Steeda UK turned it down as insurance refused it. (I'm only a youth!!).

The hope was that any powerpack ford release, has fords badging or warranty, and I can just say it came with the car

@Willsit yeah it's amazing what a turbo can do under a good tune. the temperatures have to be managed within the engine, as it can overheat quite easily.
75bhp and 64lb.ft at 5.5k to redline...
It's one freaking HELL of a good piece of kit, and as your article says, strap an exhaust on and there's going to be not much in the way of (stock) V8 v EB.

Hi Manders Mustang joking aside I would never recommend that course of action with insurers. A non stock intake is visible (just because its ford certified or not means nothing to an insurer) and if Heaven forbid your car was wrecked, and the insurance inspector spotted a non declared non standard part, it would give the insurance company a chance to declare your insurance null and void and pay you nothing.

Our recommendation is ALWAYS to declare fully what you have done to your car to avoid any insurance back lash int he case of an incident.

And yes the EB when tuned and Steeda equipped will be a very, very nice piece of kit. People thinking of it as "inferior" to the GT are looking at it wrongly, (inter model banter aside!) it's just different. Also as you say temp control will be a very important part of EB development and something we are currently looking at.

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for your kind email. I am well thanks.
I am very conscious of the interest the packs are generating, so we are doing our best to bring them to Europe.
Thomas Wolfram (another 6G member) has also asked me for news on this front, but unfortunately there is nothing ready yet.
Kind regards,
Pierre

I am keen for this too. May well be a summer 2017 mod.

I've gone back querying what the hold up is. If the RS has the warranty protected tunes already, wont be hard. Just import a few; i'm happy to be a tester

What he really means: "you bought a Mustang so you're pretty much bottom of the list of our customers when it comes to, well, anything basically".

yeah except;
that's not warranty permitting.
They use different CAIs
The RS and EB engines are different - slightly.

If it was that easy... If only, if only, if only.

Pierre has since responded to me:
Hi Steve,
Can’t say anything sorry.
Pierre

air intake really won't matter that much tbh you could bolt a cone directly to the throttle body if you wanted just it'd be warm air. as long as its flowing faster than before and the tune accounts for the increased flow rate it's fine.

They're close enough that the mountune map would act as a good starting point plus the thought of them is their rs/st tunes ARE ford approved and can be purchased via ford dealers at any time.

It's not hard is it? Just tell us what the issue is. Some sort of EU homologation thing? Issues with european fuels? Ford management still undecided?

How they think saying nothing is a better bet than what they're currently doing is beyond me. :tsk:

They are like ostriches.

Hide their head in the sand, if they can't see you, they think u can't see them :frusty: .

That's all i wanted to know as well.

Business case for it? Bring over 100 CAIs, Maps can be emailed. Bring them over in a box with all the other stuff ford put in their massive (void of 'stang parts) warehouse - and sell them as and when someone wants them.

I'll be first in line without a shadow of a doubt; they'll have my £££ for that peak 70 odd break horsies and extra 90 odd pft torque

It's frustrating beyond belief. Any actual news would be better then what we are getting. Even if it's negative. At least that way we know where we stand and make appropriate decisions.

Damit Ford.
