I've been pricing out my next wheel/tire set up and was looking at TPMS sensors the other day. It seems that a set of 4 sells for about $120 - $140 at most of the sellers that advertise here. I also noticed that you can get a set of 4 OEM sensors on Ebay for $60 - $70. It says they're brand new, never installed, and the part numbers match up with the other sellers. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something. Has anyone purchased these? Are they really the same as you would get from LMR, American Muscle, etc?

I got mine off Amazon for $75. Same ford part #. No issues whatsoever.
I would say go for it.

those are fine OP, they are oem Ford, thats what you want, LMR also sells oem sensors, stay away from the ones AM sell, they are generic and need a training tool to sync them to your car, where as the oem Ford sensors do not

I just ordered a set for $60 on ebay this morning. They match the Ford part number so it should be good.

To connect to the car is does not require a sync tool. But, for the car to correctly map the tire location you need to sync it. if you don't use the psi gauge built into the car this doesn't matter.

Levittown ford sells a 4 sensors and a sync too for about the same as 4 sensors bought individually. http://www.levittownfordparts.com/ford-performance-wheels-tpms-sensor-activation-p-3957.html

Why does the mustang have a procedure for it then? Why do the 2015+ TMPS sensors even support that feature?
Either way it is cheaper to buy them as a kit that includes the sensor then 4 sensors separately.

Did you get the MOTORCRAFT TPMS45? I thought the MOTORCRAFT TPMS35 {#F2GZ1A189A} were the ones we'd need. Those are $22/ea on Rock Auto. I'm not enTIREly (get it?) sure what the difference is. They show difference frequencies (433 or 868 MHZ vs 315 MHZ) But, I don't know if they are interchangeable. I would assume those are the frequencies at which the sensor communicate with the car?

yes those the is freq the TPMS transmits at. I am not certain but my gut feeling is that the car only works with 315Mhz sensors

So are these things always on? They just arrived today and I don't see a button on it or anything.

Yeah they are. My car "unlearned" its own sensors yesterday when I had the battery unplugged, it beeped at me a few times and said it was learning them again and after 2-3 miles everything was good.

Also got my ebay sensors in today for the new wheels, they're OEM Ford parts.
