First post. Noon question. Can I just puncture the rubber grommet and fish speaker wire through with hard plastic tube?

What grommet?
What hard plastic tube?
WTF are you TRYing to doing.

Door speaker, replace with a speaker that doesn't SUCK.

1) Remove door panel screws, Pull

2) unscrew shitty mid-range speaker, disconnect wires. Connect old wires to new speaker, screw in Good mid-range speaker that cost more than $3.

3) unscrew shitty bass speaker, disconnect wires. Connect old wires to new speaker, screw in good bass speaker that cast more than $5.

4) Replace door panel.

If you are serious about sound, check the infotainment forum, get a Maestro and hook up an amplifier, uses all the cars stuff, just fixes Fords BS.

I replaced the factory amp at your left foot with a Maestro run cables from there along the floor sill, under the rear seat to the amp. Power wire down the passenger door sill to the grommet in the firewall passenger feet, to the battery.

You may actually have to YouTube or Google search some shit.

Me, the Secretary and this Forum will Disavow ANY knowledge of your actions.

Good Luck Jim

Thanks for your reply. I replaced the speakers but now I want to power them from a 4 channel amp.

You really shouldn’t need to run new wires for the door speakers. If you need a place to connect to the factory harness, the amplifier is in the left footwell area under the dash. All your wires are there.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I know the factory amp is is behind the kick panel. I just don't want to damage anything. I've seen horror stories about the thin wire used by ford. I appreciate your input.

How much power are you planning on running? OEM wires should be good for most normal amplification. If you're planning on sending like 400 watts to each channel, yeah, you're best to run new heavier gauge stuff.

400 watt amp (63watts @ 4ohms Ă—4 rms) to both 6.5 and 3.5 in the doors. I don't want to mess with splicing factory amp wires. I want to run the speaker wires from the trunk to the doors without drilling holes all over the place.
