On my last car, I had a shop install speakers and carried over my previous sub box with 2 Kickers L7s and amps. With this one, I don't know if I want that bulky box taking up all the space in the back again so I'm wondering what I can do pretty easily myself to improve the sound system overall without having to tear too deep into the car.

I've got a 2022 Ecoboost with 101A package - the 9 speaker system with 8" Sync 3 screen.

Is adding in something like the Shaker/B&O sub in the back pretty straight forward? I tried jumping around the pinned thread but that's over 100 pages and not much making sense to me.

Thanks

There’s a couple prefab box makers who you can look into. One makes a box that fits in the same spot as the B&O/Shaker sub location. JL Audio also makes a loaded Steath box that fits there. As for integration, there’s the cheap way and the right way. The cheap was is to use an LOC and tap the rear speaker wires but those are bandpass and you won’t get all the bass frequencies. The right way is to use an integration setup like the Maestro and others. I’m not very familiar with the 9-speaker integration as I have the B&O package. But there’s a ton of info in this sub-forum about it.

Looked back at some pictures I took of my mom's last setup and she's got the following sitting in storage I can grab:
- 2x Alpine R-S65C
- 2x Alpine SPR-60c
- 1x Raptor 4.0 Farad Pro Series
- 1x Audison bit One
- 1x Alpine MRX-F35
- 1x Kicker KXA1200.1

Not sure how much (if any) of that would be compatible with my car or address what you mean in terms of the integration setup maybe (like the bit One?).

I've got this corner sub box and this Zenclosures flush box (based on my quick look, I don't think there's enough space in that to support the L7s I've already got though) in my bookmarks already too. But I'd also like to stay closer to $500 than over $1000 on upgrading audio.

I used a single 12" punch in a homemade enclosure and it is more than most people can handle.

Those Alpines will sound great but I didn't see the tweeters in your pic.

You might still be able to score some R series tweeters on clearance. I got a set nib for $100 locally

Would the ones in the shot fit in the door panel or back shelf without some extra modifications?

You’ll need an adapter as the mount is incorporated into the stock speaker. I suggest using adapters from Sounds Good Stereo here: https://soundsgoodstereo.com/produc...-2011-2023-ford-mazda-lincoln-jaguar-vehicles

I have them and they’re a perfect fit. They also come with foam rings to seal the speaker to the door panel.

The Metra adapters sold on Crutchfield are garbage and too tall.

The separates should fit the doors with adaptersI mounted my tweeters in the a pillars, ran a wire from the 6.5s to the crossovers mounted in the door panel below the window switches, a wire from the crossovers to the wiring that feeds the 3.5s( 3.5s disconnected but left in position to fill the holes) then backfeed from the 3.5 wiring to the tweeters. It works great and is minimally invasive.
