All set to fill up with some corn (lu47 and lund FF tune) but had a few questions I hope someone can clarify... fyi I have an x4 so I cant see ethanol %

Procedure is fill tank with corn, park up for 10 mins, throw a couple revs, then go?

What should the afr be on corn?

Last tank of 93 I put a can of octanium in is it ok to put e85 in when I get my tank down to let's say 15 miles till empty?

Will I have problems starting the car with the semi cold temperatures still here in chicago? (30* in the morning about 40*-50* afternoon) if so what's the minimum temperature I should run corn at?

I appreciate any response. Thanks!

Much easier to change with a flex, if you have to go from 93 to straight e85, I'd drive until miles til empty was at nearly zero, fill up and let it idle for 10 + minutes and like you said a few revs here and there.

Its 30 here and haven't had any issues with cold starts..

@stangman638

Thanks man I appreciate it. Is the AFR still 14 or is it richer?

Are the apps install on 2016's? If so you can use the built in app to show AFR, it's around 14 on 93 and on corn around 10, I could be wrong but that's what I've been reading. Contact your tuner. I'm in the ChiTown area as well, you heading up to GLD any time soon?

@Loki-GT

I was going to head down to route 66 for a test and tune when it got warmer but dont have a problem going up to GLD. Haven't been to either but plan on it once it gets warmer. We should set something up I know @BmacIL and the other @ChitownStang are down to do something this spring

Yes all of that corn alcohol washing the oil off of the cylinder walls will come back to bite you in the miles ahead! Happy warranty repairs!

Shown less wear with ethanol... In a Chevy Tahoe from 2000 , that was not flex fuel ready over 100k miles on ethanol. The other car using regular gas, more worn, and discoloration shown.

Don't know what yer smokin this has not been a problem, the only problem is what power level you can get to before needing a return style fuel system, or getting bad E85 and clogging the fuel filter. The rest is awesomesauce.

AFR should be 9.3-9.8 and vary from there.

Lund process is idle with rev holding occasionally. I did around 2500 rpm. Drive it lightly for a bit if needed.

Cold starts can take a little longer or feel like it struggles, but it should still fire. Not sure about temp but I started mine up when it was in the 40's.

Sounds good, good luck on the tests!!! When I took my wife to the drag strip when she was my girlfriend I took her in my '69 SS 396 Chevelle with no AC, it was 98f out and she was PISSED when we got there and she was all sweaty and "I didn't spend enough time with her" because I was drag racing so much. I didn't intend for this to be a test but it turned out to be, she told me many years later after we were married she almost broke up with me that day. It's been 20 years so I must have done something right. :)

You don't need to park and rev to learn, just drive easy 10 miles or so.

AFR is 9.8 at idle/cruise at full e85. Need to verify your e85 alcohol content before that means anything
