I'm preparing to get tuned (93, FF, e85r) I've already purchased and installed a Ngauge and will be tuning with Tuning by James and curious about monitoring ethanol content. I would like to monitor using the Ngauge as opposed to tube testing. I see some are using this kit https://www.fuel-it.com/ford-mustang-5-0-flex-fuel-kits/ which is pricey. Are there other options to accomplish this?

The nGauge is able to calculate estimated ethanol content which will be fine while NA. If REALLY pushing the limits (want an E85R tune.. so tuning for true E85) while boosted, I'd understand wanting to run an innovate or equivalent.

How is the ngauge able to calculate ethanol content? I’d love to know how to do this...

The NGauge doesn't do anything but read input from the ODB stream. There is a PID that uses the Wideband O2 sensors with inferred logic to come up with a number. It's OK for most NA applications but not useable for FI applications.

That’s awesome! Where would I find this on the ngauge?

Just remember that PID for Ethanol content is only gonna work if the flex fuel logic is turned on in the tune.
