Just saying that is at the low end of the spectrum for a bone stock pump gas car and he is on E85.
He's got E85 in the tank but not really "running" it in the true sense of the word given he's not actually tuned for the fuel. Just dumping E85 in your tank and no other change is not going to gain much over 93.

It would be an interesting study to see the power output differences between E10/93 and E85 with no additional timing adjustments (just A/F adjustment).

I'm wondering if adding E85 and only adjusting for more fuel (no advance) wouldn't actually reduce output a little.

As others have pointed out, even if it's even power or even slightly less, it still makes sense to go with E85 for the additional knock and detonation protection if you're flogging the car under hot conditions (and the fact that 93 isn't always 93 and there's no way to test it).

Unfortunately for him racing with NASA, he kinda needs to get hung up on what a dyno says. In a way though, it is to your advantage to read low. If you're not looking to do a bunch with your car and said warranty at some point, perhaps TT3 is a good fit. In my region, that's where they tend to hang, because they're not willing to gut and shed all that weight.
Until NASA outs it on the dyno.

True, not saying it should be like cheatingly low. When I got my certifying dyno last year I got 466/430, and in a way, kinda hurt because I wanted to see that big ol' sexy 500rwhp, or damn close to it. The guy warned me even as I was unloading that his dyno read low, and it might hurt my feelings, but as it sunk in, I mean, the less power I make, the less weight I can take, right? Fast forward a year, different dyno at the track, I got 469/433.

So, was the first guy really all that low, or are all the guys bragging about how much power they make just going to shops that cater to dyno queens? I don't know, and to some degree, I also really don't care, because if you're coming to a track, and in my class, I'm going to straight up kick your ass, because those laptime numbers matter much more than a dyno, and there's no real way to go and fudge up those numbers, aside from cheating and swapping the tune.

Calm down killer, no one is coming to a track near you. I was just curious because you made it seem like you should be seeing 500 wheel and you didn't.

No on is doubting your status as Steve McQueen-Shumacher-Earnhardt-Force.

But if power didn't get a vote, no one would care about it ever and cars with 200 hp would win championships. Power is like penis size, just because you're large doesn't guarantee she'll speak in tongues and just because you're small doesn't mean she'll yawn, but all things being equal, it's easier to get her where she wants to go if you're using the proper tool. Technique always gets a vote, but there's no denying that on this side of chassis limits, more power is better.

Perhaps my tongue in cheek was missed, but moreso that I had somebody the other day explain to me that I needed to contact X tuner to get 500rwhp like this dude on YouTube (who blew up his motor), in the end, who cares? If he's going to do NASA TT3 as what I'm assuming is going to be a full weight GT350, he's going to have quite a difficult season ahead going out with I'm guessing a 4050 minimum race weight. Power is nice, but power to weight ratio is even nicer, where TT3 is 10:1, and going up against 300hp 3000# Corvettes, they're going to go deeper into corners, carry more speed, and brake harder. They also play with their power curve to pull throttle so that they're always in their powerband, and even throw an early spike to make it seem like they're weaker than they really are.

In the end, who cares, people are cheating, people will show up with a stacker trailer full of $600 slicks and quarter million dollar motorhomes. So, who cares how much you make, optimize the mods and tires so you are on the extreme end of your class, get your dyno, and go drive the shit out of it.

Power gets a vote but handling and chassis setup is far more important unless you are double the HP at the same weight. which you cant do in class racing. Of course, driver mods are everything

It's not just the wand, it's the magic that's performed.
