Driving in S mode

Hey guys, does anyone know if it's actually ok to always drive in S mode? I have base model 18gt and I put the gear selector in S mode. For the loud backfire on engine braking lol, and it's much funner to drive.
Out of the 1875 miles on there 1874 have been driven in S mode lol. Wondering if it does any damage at all?
Trans is the a10 btw.

Why would driving in Sport cause damage? My S is a drag mode via tune now. Being a base 300A I had to make it that way w/out the toggle modes. Way to aggressive for normal crusing around town.

Why would driving in Sport cause damage? My S is a drag mode via tune now. Being a base 300A I had to make it that way w/out the toggle modes. Way to aggressive for normal crusing around town.
I Like that idea. Slap it into DM.

Oh ok, nice. I don't know I was just verifying that sport mode is ok. Like I said I drive it in that car 24/7. Street or highway.

I drive mine in sport or sport+ most of the time.

Remember this car is made for a LOT of people. Some of whom don't care to be in S mode all of the time. Now, what you do while it's in S mode is a different story :cwl:

Im in sport+ mode with paddles 99% of the time. So much fun with the whipple!!

e85 or 93octane tune? how is it? Im highly considering getting a PBD tune but havent pulled the trigger yet on it, cant decide if i want to pay extra for the nguage to get the transbrake feature. Also cant decide get 2 octane tunes or just an e85 tune.

Im in sport+ mode with paddles 99% of the time. So much fun with the whipple!!
I too use my paddles about 90% of the time. Bone stock car though. No problems yet.

I run BP93 , If you have E85 close, run it, The nearest FlexFuel to me is 25miles, bad thing is it isn't true E85, and we only have 6 stations within 50miles of me that have that.

The 93 tune itself is banging, dyno'd it with 4,000miles on the clock and upper 80's it made 420rwhp/390rwtq, logs showed 24.5 deg timing and zero knock, I do fill up with Sunoco 260 GT, every other week so there was some 100octane mixed in there.

I ran a [email protected] Saturday, It was cool, lower 50's and on the heavy ass OE PS4's and a tank of 260 GT. , Not bad for rolling straight into the lanes after a 2hr drive.

Ran 3 more 12.16x's @116.5, it was consistent, time for some front runners.

1/8th mile only, had some wheel hop, best time was 8.28@90 just leaving it in Drive and mashing the gas. I tried manually shifting once but tagged the limiter.

Driving in sport mode is fine. I only drive in D until its warmed up and then switch to sport. I'd rather it not hold high RPMs and rev match downshift when the motor and trans are still cold.

I was just curious how much difference a 93 octane tune would make. Seems that E85 tunes are the hot set-up if you have E85 available.
