While searching for the source of an annoying "clunk" on a 2022 Mustang GT with 5,000 miles, the driveshaft's center support rubber isolator seems awfully compliant. I don't think it's the source of the random clunk but would Ford deliberately design this non-serviceable driveshaft assembly with so much slop? Thanks

There should be some articulation there but that seems excessive. I am no expert at all thought.
This video may provide some insight.

That seems excessive. Also, it shouldn’t make any noise when tugging on it.

That doesn't look right from a lot of view points. Take it back to the Dealer you bought it from, and make them fix it.

Knowing how the dealer would claim nothing was wrong with the driveshaft (a spare driveshaft from a friend's car has the same slop) we'll live with it or upgrade to one of the pricy one-piece options. The driveshaft from my Mach 1 6-speed, shown below, has better heat shielding and more rubber in the sides of the center support that reduces the slop.

Did you give them a chance to look at it? Did you take it in and they denied anything was wrong, in writing?

I showed them the loose drive shaft and they wanted to inspect it in the actual vehicle. I'm not willing to shop dealers or let them play with the car and cause other damage. The dealer that delivered my Mach 1 didn't even remove the shipping blocks from the front suspension springs so some kid wheeled a floor jack under the rocker panel and almost smashed the plastic.
