I was told the stock axle/driveshafts on the automatic can take more HP than the manual transmission. He said that in an automatic it gets "preloaded" where in the manual everything hits at once. I've seen many people upgrading these parts but will the automatic's driveshaft and axles hold up against more horsepower? He said the stock parts could hold up against 11 sec 1/4 mile times. It's quite expensive upgrading but I'd rather pay than snap something.

Doubt you can snap your half shafts / drive shafts at the hp you are at.
Here are two very nice cars for example.

MT-82 (manual)

6R80 (auto)

Was thinking about them if I added headers, drag radials and that torque converter but hopefully they can handle it, I go to the track quite often and have half a bunch of dyno's already.

I have full header back, tune, cai and just placed an order for 17x10 black weld rts with 28" Hoosier slicks. Can't say I am worried about breaking anything just yet.
Time will tell I guess, I am also running an auto car.

The videos were to show the shock mt has on the drive train.
I have a little under 420rwhp, we will find out how long they hold up as soon as my drag combo gets here.

So for our car can the automatic handle more HP and a harder launch? Just ordered the D/R and torque converter is next on the list. I've had mixed answers on if I'd need to upgrade them. Sounds like a probably need to if I had a manual however, possibly not on the autos but I haven't heard many answers for the automatics specifically.

The 800hp rated ones will certainly ensure you're worry free with the mods you list. It is the repeated launching cycles that will allow the endurance limit of the stockers to manifest itself as twisted scrap.

I was actually trying to ask if the stock ones could handle everything, but sounds like you don't think so lol.

Nope. I'm gonna buy half-shafts myself because I want a drag set-up.

Sorry - This made me reminisce of my mechanical design class

I'd like to get the 800hp ones or even the Ford Racing ones once my bank account doesn't look so sad.
