Ask for progress photos. Especially of the split seam before work is carried out

Yea, was thinking exactly that. Will give them a call back shortly and ask.Ask for progress photos. Especially of the split seam before work is carried out
and a full detail after!Just having this conversation in the office. It's a pretty serious statement to say that there is a split/problem in the a pillar and body shop work is required. I didn't make a fuss or inquire more on the phone but I will be pressuring them for a full & detailed write up, to give myself peace of mind at least...
Can you do that maths on my bank balance ;)?Sorry lads, a case of Chinese whispers here I think.
I had a longer conversation with the girl in the service dept I spoke to this morning. She seems pretty well informed. Not the same chap I was speaking to last week.
Assured me that its a seal behind the a pillar, not necessarily the pillar itself! As they don't have a body shop on site, any follow up work is done at a separate location, regardless of whether its body work or trim/seals etc. It means they can fully establish the problem.
Anxiety made me take 2 & 2 and make 55 :headbonk:
Follow up call with her tomorrow...
If you hadn't checked already, I'd check for dampness on the carpets. Obviously doesn't show when you have the rubber lined mats under your feet. I had no idea until I actually put my hand on the carpets and pressed down.Hopefully detailed images allows us other owners to check. This thread has made me wary, my car war pretty foggy inside when I came back to it, however she lives in the garage (or car park) so usually never gets a chance to be swamped in water like you evil owners who don't drive yours and leave them outside ;)!
She is really good, always knows what's going on and sorts any problems.Sorry lads, a case of Chinese whispers here I think.

Probably take longer if you had a courtesy car, because, they're just gonna reclaim it ;)!Frustratingly slow progress but progress nonetheless. Windscreen is due to be removed today - apparently they are waiting for someone to come in and do it  this is in order to re seal the windscreen and replace the faulty seams.
Current expectation is middle of next week to be finished with it. She couldn't say whether or not the carpet had been removed/dried yet but I guess that could add another couple of days to my wait.
I'm sure they would be doing this a lot faster had I taken one of their courtesy cars!
:kickrock:
Well, the original offer from them was - you can rent a car for ÂŁ20 a day from such & such, bloody glad I didn't!Probably take longer if you had a courtesy car, because, they're just gonna reclaim it ;)!
or a roush axle back ;)!Well, the original offer from them was - you can rent a car for ÂŁ20 a day from such & such, bloody glad I didn't!
Going to throw a welcome home party I've decided, when I get it back.
May treat it to a dash cam - my bday in a couple of weeks...
For the dampness you need to use the AC in winter times as it extracts moisture.I have a feeling i may have had a similar issue - i didnt check for any dampness but as i put in another thread - had crazy steamy windows after having driven the car to work and leaving it for half an hour or so. Dampness inside may have been the culprit. Also i’m sure i heard water sloshing around when i was driving, not long after we had all that snow...
Will go out and check in a bit, full of wine and cheesecake right now lol
