Im at a crossroads. I am 2 months shy of the end of my current deployment and am cross shopping these cars.

my list is ecoboost vs wrx or sti vs gt.

my question is about the premium drive modes. I don't care for leather or navigation. so are the drive modes that important to have? how often do you use them?

this will be a DD car, which ever I choose if I buy a mustang, so is the premium package worth the extra coin for drive modes alone?

last mustang I had was a 12 boss and im looking for something cheaper and fun.

I too am military, heading down range in two months, coincidence? My take coming from someone with like needs.

1. You can fit ur ruck sack and 1 duffle in the trunk, and one more, maybe two in the back seat.

2. Sweaty pts in the morning with the premium, heated cooled seats, needs a cover, I use a towel, I'm afraid nasty ball sweat will get into the under lying foam and ferment.

3. The Perrelis that come with the PP, are not suited for poorly maintained Army roads. Or their usually accompany towns, I've never been to Campbell but, from my experience they r all the same.

4. I don't really notice a difference in the modes, but my but Dyno isn't perfect.

5. Still I love it, all the fellas and gals round here do too.

6. I'm heading to Fente, where abouts r u at? I'd be happy to awnser anything else you want to know about the GT PP, or the EB, which my wife has.

STAY SAFE. Reaper 17 out.

BTW base has all the drive modes, you just need to mess with the traction control button to access them. Does not have adjustable shocks though. Premium pack adds 100-200 lbs in weight to the eco, which really needs to be as light as you can get it.
adjustable shocks?

fenty nice! that's where our sister battalion is at. im 1-187in, 3bct, 101. working night shift as a targeting nco at tb gamberi (down the road from fenty), so all I do is read about cars all night. its boring, except the sporadic incoming every so often. are you one of the 10th mtn guys replacing us?

Stay safe out there. I'm at Campbell, black GT, 2015. I've seen about 7-8 others 2015 mustangs around.

im always in sport+ mode unless the roads are wet then i stick to normal! I never use snow/wet even in the rain as it bogs the car down too much

I would say the question on the modes is what is the default throttle mapping in a non-premium car (I don't know - it's a question). On mine, I use almost exclusively Track mode, rarely Sport+. Wet and Snow is absolutely useless.

If Base car thottle mapping is similar to Track mode, than drive modes are not worth paying for (IMO).

I've spoken with someone at livernois and they told me the car drives faster and more efficient in its standard form, Tuned or stock. I haven't been able to prove this but, it is what I was told

Get the upgrade. Sport mode makes all the difference. Transforms it into a different car.

but wouldn't a tuned gt equal the same as sport mode?

difference being that when I start up the tuned gt, the tune would already be default. or with the prem, I have to flick a switch every time.

im just trying to wrap my head around it. ford should have offered switches in all trims and save the rest for the prem models. Not everyone wants nav, pony lights, leather, etc... but wouldn't everyone want switches.

just like the Subaru brz prem vs limiteds . the lower trim gives up the switches..... but yes, in the mustang the switches are for car performance instead of a/c controls, thank god

I just think that ford F'd up bad when they didn't put switches in all trims.

I think you're using an assumption that Base car uses Normal mode throttle mapping. And that assumption is most likely wrong.

This is what i heard. Obviously i don't really have a way to test this myself, but through testing, livernois told me that the car performs better overall in performance category in normal drive mode. I even personally feel that the car feels sportier in sport plus, but honestly i do believe them. They have a ton of time working with ECOBOOST so i know that their experience is good enough to make a claim like that
