You mention in another post. (I want them for the trips I do make to the track. Having the proper equipment makes the experience much more enjoyable). I agree with that statement 100%. I’ve dragged raced fast cars all my life and have found that more sidewall a drag tire has. 1. The more consistent it will be. 2. it'll be less punishing on the driveline. Pretty much drag racing 101. Being consistent and not breaking sh!t will make your experiences more enjoyable! :)A 20 in drag radials is cool if your using it as a duel purpose street/track tire. And aesthetically most people will like the looks better. But it will require more skill to get it down the track.

I see where you say you've done a lot of racing with fast cars, just curious what you raced and how quick did you go?

Love talking drag racing, as I done a lot of it also for about 25 years, sure do miss it.

Like hearing about others combinations and how it did.

I’ve built and ran an 8 second fox body. 427 stroker in that. An SN95 with a 363 that ran low 9s. And my current street car has clipped of a high 9 second pass.Even did a big turbo SRT4 for a while just to be different from racing mustangs. I don’t have any pics of the fox. My first wife threw them away outta spite. But here’s a photo of the SN95 and the S550. Sorry for the thread jack.

My point is, 20" radial will do the same as the 18s on stock power with the DCT limits, oem tires have cut 1.6s on 20's. the evo ecoboost hacked up gt500 with legit drag setup only cut what, 1.5's?

If you want 18s, buy the Signature wheels, but you wont see any benefit over a 20 DR

Thank you for that info. I’m going with the Nitto 555Rii in a 20”.

Any idea of what psi the guys cutting 1.6s were using in the stock tires.

I've been looking for reproduction (cheap) 20x11 - 50mm offset wheels to put DR's on, but have yet to find them.
Anyone found some?

You won’t find any. I’ve spoken with Race Star, they won’t have them until sometime in 2021. No one else would be considered cheap.

If you are looking for replicas, i am guessing that will be a bit. And as for Cheap? Well idk what cheap is anymore. I am also looking for some cheap wheels to mount DR. Contacted Project6gr.com and they are currently working on the milling and specing there current wheels for GT500 fitment, no ETA. I also have friend that has some 20" Ferradas that i will try once i get my car. Both of those choices are in 400-450 price range a piece. Potentially any cast 20x11 wheel with correct offset will work (which there are quite a few), whether spoke design and barrel thickness will work would be trial and error. I assume any fitments people have found for the GT350 would be good starting points.

Any reason you don’t run DRs on the stock wheels to have traction all the time?
I have done true daily driving on Nitto DRs for years.
With high power cars it’s definitely the way to go to enjoy the power all the time.
A 20” DR won’t handle poorly on the street.
If that’s a concern, you have Toyo R888R

The toyos are beginning to humm.. its not loud, but its noticable. lee& ken told me the 20 MT sway too much for their liking. I think that may have abeen a one-off case, and ill be trying a 20" DR after the toyos are worn out, possibly nitto oe et street ss, something wiht some sort of wet traction above the ET street Rs.

As for the swaying, i cant see how, my 18s sway BAD! when i forst put them on, after a fwe heat cycles, the seemed to even out, as well as i drive them on lower pressures

I should be getting my Drag wheels and tires in the next week or so and will post when they come in. I ended up going with Forgestar CF5 18x11 with MT ET R 305/45/18. Mainly went with Forgestar because of price point at $400 a wheel and they will match my BC forged regular wheels pretty nicely. They are not drag specific wheels just nice rotary forged wheels.

I was strongly debating them as well, only reason i didnt go was because im spending so much and doing this car exactly how i want with a ton of built specific to me parts, i figured i could splurge on a set, especially since they are matching.

Good luck, congrats, and cant wait to see em!
