Got some 305/45r17 555r2s on ebay for 508 bucks free shipping. I have actually had pretty good luck finding tires on ebay when others have been backordered. Can usually find really good deals too. That's exactly what I did. Thanks for the tip. Got a heck of a deal on the Nitto 555r2 on of all places amazon. By applying for their Prime credit card they took $100 off and then another $60 for some other thing I'll never use. Totaled $616 at checkout and free shipping.
For the OP, if the goal is to run the PP wheels everyday and just want improved traction then throwing on some 275/40r19 DRs will help a bit, but the ones that have better grip are going to be pretty bad / not great in inclement weather. if its just something for certain occasions (i.e., track day, mexico, weekend car, etc.) I would find some cheap 17x10 wheels, get a set of 305/45r17s, and drop the tire pressure a little bit. I actually had some 275/50r17s on SVE 17x9 wheels that cost like 300 for the set and could hook from a dig on street at around 630ish whp.
