Advance track does nothing in a straight line
AdvanceTrac will absolutely engage in straight line pulls. I've datalogged this countless times and caught the indicator light for AT illuminating during several pulls.

The problem is, you intend to drag race in a straight line, but the computer thinks you're about to no longer go in a straight line ....

With my tune , in track mode after toggling TCS off, advancetrac will not kick in until you are way too sideways (as long as you change the steering angle to try to go straight so it knows its sideways) Ive done 500 foot rollers in this mode no problem

I know it depends on the tune, tires, suspension, and hp/tq as to how advancetrac will function.

Did you datalog to confirm you aren't seeing partial throttle closure or showing any torque codes?

Anyway, in my particular situation I was seeing AdvanceTrac engage during shifts. Specifically, during shifts. That was enough in my particular setup to cause the stability control system to think I was going to go sideways.

On Lund's tune, my throttle drastically shut closed and for quite a long duration. But on the whipple calibration the throttle closure was much less severe, and didn't seem to be shut for as long.

Done.

ETC_ACT drops to about 45%, PEDAL is 100%, Torque Source is 2 (Traction Control / Collision Mitigation By Braking). Run was done in AdvanceTrac Sport Mode (double tap Traction Control button).

Edit: I will beat to the punch because I know it will be pointed out that this is AdvanceTrac Sport Mode and not Traction Control Off Mode. I have tested every single mode possible (Traction Control Fully On, Traction Control Off, AdvanceTrac Sport Mode, and AdvanceTrac Off Mode). The -ONLY- mode that does NOT pull throttle/power whatever you want to call it, and the -ONLY- mode that does NOT throw Torque Source Code 2 .... is AdvanceTrac Off.

So when in doubt, just shut AdvanceTrac completely off to ensure nothing is interfering.

Traction control off, advance track on. Sport mode is not the same thing. Sport mode leaves traction control enabled

Haha - I KNEW this was going to be mentioned so I had edited what I put before. I will see if I can find a datalog where the mode is Traction Control Off.

Here is a datalog with Traction Control Off Mode, several WOT pulls still showing Torque Source Code 2 and ETC_ACT dipping

I encountered this issue years ago when I was stock but on a Lund Tune. I *only* drove around with Traction Control Off at the time, and even mentioned in the thread that consequently I *tried* AdvanceTrac Sport Mode to see if it would rectify the issue, but it did not. I also mentioned having a big fear to shut off AdvanceTrac completely: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/advancetrac-engaging-at-high-speed-shifts.147398/

Why would you think it wouldn't be mentioned? You literally have traction control on, no shit traction control came on

I have had similar experiences as @2019GT

Here are two screenshots from the same log at the same point in time on my car when it had the Whipple on it. I also know I am not the only one who has experienced this with a similar setup. The TC light flashes and everything.

You can see the yellow line (throttle angle) dipped slightly while the white line (accel pedal) stayed at 100%. Torque source is traction control. This was with TC off but advance track on. This was at a speed and with tires where I have no traction issues. I could repeat this over and over and over on my car except for if advance track was fully disabled. I have dozens of logs showing the exact same thing.

Weird, according to him his issue started with a tune, did yours do it before the whipple? Obviously less traction with a whipple but his is kicking in only on in 6th gear on a stock car. That's does not seem like normal function to me

Maybe I've just had 3 unicorn cars

I think at this point you're arguing just to argue.

To reiterate:

I have tested EVERY permutation of the Traction Control/Stability Control system offered:

1. Traction Control ON
2. Traction Control OFF
3. AdvanceTrac SPORT
4. AdvanceTrac OFF

For modes 1, 2, and 3, I have observed the following during WOT pulls:

1. WHEN a shift is occurring, ESPECIALLY a 4-5 or 5-6 shift ...
2. THEN, the following events follow:
A. ETC_ACT is heavily reduced (throttle body is forcefully shut to some partial angle. In my logs above, 45%)
B. tq_source_pid (Torque Source PID) is simultaneously observed to be 2, which maps to both Traction Control and Stability Control

I already mentioned that under Traction Control situation #2 (Traction Control OFF), the Stability Control light illuminated in a flashing manner while the event occurred, and the datalog showed a reduction in throttle at the same moment.

So if TC is OFF yet the system is pulling Throttle while throwing a Traction control related code ... it would be the Stability Control system engaging no?

It's not a traction issue in my case. 100% confirmed not a traction issue. It happens at the same speed in one specific gear over and over in my case. In my case I was able to fix it through some calibration adjustments.

On my car before the Whipple I would have to go waaaaay back in time on logs and see if I ever captured this specific gear/speed window in one. What I do know is I have seen several near-stock cars I have tuned or reviewed logs that have had something eerily similar in the logs.
