I know the car is supposed to honk twice when you leave the car running and get OUT, but about 20% of the time, my car does the double honk when I open the door to get INTO the car when it is NOT running. I have double checked hood, trunk, other door, all closed fine, no lights on dash. What the heck is going on?

It's supposed to be a warning that the battery is dying in your fob, but in my experience, that's subject to lots of false alarms. Having my fob buried deep in a winter coat pocket seems to trigger it for me...

I've had it happen a time or two.

The other time it will double-honk is during a mislock event. I figured the fob was in my pocket in such a way that I double tapped the lock button. I hate these fobs.

Yup , I think it does it when you hit the button ( or squeeze it in your tight jeans ) when the door is open .

Hold the fob in your hand when getting in and out and see if that fixes it.
