So grabbed a K&N drop in filter and had been running it for a little while. Maybe 500-1k miles.
I opened the air box to check things and I noticed a big piece of rubber stuck in the pleats on the throttle body side. I’m lucky I opened it when I did as this piece was slowly migrating out from in the folds.
This could’ve gotten sucked into my motor had I not checked when I did, and maybe ruined my motor.
I even inspected the filter when I received it.
The loose piece of rubber wasn’t from the surround, or torn from the filter. The filter is perfectly fine except for this. It was an extra piece from manufacturing that was somehow stuck in between the pleats.

Just a heads up for anyone that’s running one. And is a big piece. As you can see in the photos

Wow! I only go for dry filters and WIX especially. I used oiled filter on KTM dirt bike but they are cleaned every 4 hours run time.

Eh…. Not really, it’s to be expected any more - the norm….

because quality control and manufacturing sucks anymore compared to 10-30 years ago when people actually gave a shit….
