Just when you thought you had everything figured out, ready to pull the trigger, you find a variable that just completely kills your plans and makes you resort to the next best thing.

That just happened to me. After seeing how much insurance was gonna rape me in California when i move, I cannot get a GT. EcoBoost it is.
So you're going to get the EB with PP right? Let us know when you order and what you get!

Its every 6 months. To me, $190 per month is absolutely absurd. Idk about you, but i operate on a very tight budget and everything has to be able to work on a month to month basis or else i won't make it happen.
I'm paying $102 a month for mine about $50 more per month than my Fusion, I am 39. I'm hoping your young and that is the reason it's so high, it's not unreasonable but it is high.

It could definitely be worse! The EcoBoost is a ton of fun and there's literally gobs of potential in there to make it a very formidable sleeper on the streets! Let me know if there's anything I can help out with on your modding quest and best of luck!

I was at AM yesterday to check out the facility with my gf since I only live like 30mins away and had the day off. The facility was really clean and professional and they were very accommodating and took us on a tour even though I'm pretty sure it was after visiting hours. I'll definitely be making some future purchases.

On another note, I bet theres a pretty good % of ppl getting GTs who really can't afford them once gas and insurance is factored into the equation. At least he looked before buying

You will also save about $700-$800 a year in gas with an EB.

Nothing wrong with being conservative and staying within a strict budget (whatever it may be). I bought my '12 GT while still in school when a reasonable person definitely wouldn't have. But I buckled down and tightened up my spending and luckily it worked out.

Congrats on your future order, there's no shame in getting the EB instead. I'm actually considering picking one up in the near future for my dad, so be sure to provide plenty of feedback. :D:D

Have you considered the extended warranty also? That's another ~2,000 if you opt for it.

Thinking about it, but at the same time i want the 50 Years Appearance Package in Deep Impact Blue. Or PP with that color in dark saddle. Also debating between the auto and manual. The Auto i drove the other day was pretty fun, but it wasn't the PP. I wanna drive a manual PP and auto PP before i order.

Also, im 26. I figured after i turned 25 it would go down, and my driving record is pretty clean (last accident was 7 years ago, one ticket 6 years ago). Ill be switching to Geico when i get it cause i have State Farm on my Taurus now. Geico gives me a really good rate on my 93 LX.

Though it would have been nice to have a GT, with that kind of a budget, a GT should not even be in consideration.
The numbers worked out, and it would fit into my budget. One thing i didn't realize was that my insurance would probably go up when i moved. If i was still gonna be living in Hawaii after the purchase i would be paying 600 every 6 months through Geico in Hawaii and over a thousand in California.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but i bought an "extended warranty" for my Taurus when i bought it. Covered it for 6 years/60k. I was told it wasn't a comprehensive warranty like the standard 3/36, and that it only covered certain things. If any of the extended warranties are not the same as the standard 3/36, then i don't want it.

It's been a while since I checked, but when I made that 15 minute phone call years ago it kind of ticked me off. I gave Geico the info they needed and they presented the price to me like it was automatically going to save me money over what I was already paying. It was just about double.

For all those paying $200-$250 or more a month, my advice to you is to buy a $300 beater and make that your primary vehicle. Doesn't mean you have to drive it, but make it your primary vehicle and insure your Mustang as your secondary vehicle, with a maximum mileage. You might be surprised what insuring those (2) vehicles would cost in comparison to one new Mustang.

YMMV. GEICO is by far the cheapest somewhat reputable insurer for my vehicles. Allstate and State Farm were nearly double.

I've seen Geico be absurd... not to mention working with them on the body shop/rental side of things is a nightmare. It's all in personal experience but for me (don't have mustang yet) state farm has been hundreds cheaper, both car and house.

Completely the opposite experience here for me. GEICO has been great and body shop/rental side of things is smooth as can be. State Farm on the other hand can go fly a kite. I had them for my home insurance during Katrina. I was lucky and had no claims to make but they dropped me anyway. 10 years of premiums, no claims, see ya later. I had to live uninsured for 4 years.
