Yes, at high-pressure. I don't like those, either. They use some real crap, recycled water and chemicals. A the high-pressure, I worry that they are blasting debris onto the paint. 2 bucket hand wash only. If it was illegal to wash cars here, I'd be breaking the law!
It's a $160 fine! And unfortunately, I live 3 houses down from the in-laws of one SJ Water Company Director.

Another observation... all Car Washes in our area must use recycled water. :frusty:

I guess I shouldn't complain, we got some awesome year round driving roads here that kind of make it worth while.

Well crap!!!
Anyone know of a hand wash car wash in the South/West San Jose area?? The only choice we have here is to go to a public car wash since washing your car at home is now against the law!
Wait did I read that right? Washing your car is against the law. Kalifornia.

If it makes you feel better I once ripped the front splitter off my #189 of 747 Boss 302 Laguna Seca driving in a parking garage in New Orleans. Ripped the bolts clean out too - bodyshop originally said I needed an entire new front bumper (3grand) - we managed to improvise and get the splitter back on with just 300 dollars in labor charges but that nearly ruined my year I was so upset about it.

On a lighter note I handwashed my Shelby for the first time today. It's almost 10pm I think i'm going to wash my Porsche right now just because.

Also just an FYI. Even though the damage is really not that bad I thought I would pop in my dealer and order the drivers corner of the splitter but found out even though it is three pieces you have to order the whole assembly.
I'm afraid to ask, but how much is the entire assembly?

List was something like 479.00. I'm sure you can get cheaper though.

Taking a GT350(R) to an automatic car wash should be illegal. Don't understand how folks can do that to their cars.

If they made washing at home illegal over here in the east bay I'd be at city hall everyday raising hell. We do have some great roads but the gov/people pushing agendas is absurd.

I only run through self drive touchless washes to keep the car mostly clean, with occasional hand washes. Not going to let anything touch the paint.

I'm in the tri-valley and we get once a month. Obviously hard to enforce though:ninja:

I've actually thought of rinsing the dirt and grime with the hose while it's raining outside then pulling into the garage to do the soap stage. Haven't figure out how to rinse the soap off though.
