Hi all

Simple question, does the oem intake / filter on a gt need any cleaning, oiling, ect? Or is it good to go for its life span?

Taking off my Steeda CAI and putting my oem box back on

Thanks!

OEM filter needs to be replaced as maintenance. Or can opt for a reusable drop in filter.

Paper filter needs to be changed every so often. I recommend getting a K&N drop in filter. You just wash and re-oil and you're good to go.

If you're going back to the OEM air box, might as well upgrade to an 18+ with a AFE dry filter. It will flow better than your 15-17.

Yeah i was thinking of maybe doing a drop in filter later on. Car is staying stock power so not really that big of a deal for me

It's just a better investment and will have better breathability for the engine. Paper filters sell for around 20 each and the K&N is lifetime at around $50.
