Do I need too replace these rear suspension bolts??

Hi All,

Ive just removed my rear lower control arm and Magneride strut. Does the factory shop manual recommend replacing all the bolts? Also they all had loctite. Should that all be removed and replace?

I’m trying to get an account with service so I can access shop manuals but its pending.

According to the 2019 service manual, yes, all of the bolts involved are supposed to be discarded.

They are not torque to yield. Ford wants you to replace the bolts because they come with thread locker pre-applied.

I believe some of the bolt replacement is because of Legal.
I worked in the Ford garage back in the 70’s & 80’s. Very few suspension bolt replacements were called for in the Ford repair manual. After a few law suits and now bolt replacements everywhere.

If not a torque to yield fastener like head bolts and some main/rod bolts, then just clean threads of old Loctite and reapply the same color Loctite and reuse torquing to specs.

they put a crapton of threadlocker on em, too. make sure you clean off that crap before you do the new goop.
