I have a 19 non PP GT and looking at the Steeda Progressives. Do I need to swap to the Steeda shocks and struts while I'm at it? I've read a few post that say the ride was bouncy and not great at the springs and Struts were not balanced well together. I just daily my car and wanna get the ton of wheel gap out as well and put a stop to the nose diving and bad lifting under acceleration. Steeda has the comfort kit with springs , shocks and struts , I just don't wanna throw money at it if the shocks and struts aren't needed.

I bought the steeda struts and shocks this time to go with the springs. I hadn’t installed them on the car yet I have a 19 non pp as well.

I had steeda’s progressive springs on my 15 GT with the stock strut and shocks but hitting bumps on corners on the interstate felt weird it just didn’t feel planted so I’m hoping the steeda struts and shocks will help with that on my 19 after I lower it.

I will let others weigh in that run the Progressives with the OE shocks & struts.

IF you plan on changing the shocks & struts down the road, doing them at the same time as the springs will save you installation & money down the road.

We do recommend the camber plates with the Steeda springs.

Running the OE shocks & struts & can cause premature wear as a result of the change in spring rates.

We have a great Comfort Package that is paired with our Actives - great for DD.

Also curious. Picking up an non PP GT next month. Would like to add some basic things to increase the handling. I'm by no means a hardcore canyon Carver, but on the occassions I go out with some friends I'd like to feel confident going into turns.

You're getting PP1 car. What makes you think you need to "increase the handling"??

I am not getting a PP1 car, thats why I'm chiming in. Just a GT Premium w/ 401a, non PP.
Mines just a 401A as well , I feel like I have enough tire clearance to clear 33's. I do see alot of nose dive and rise under hard acceleration. Just need it to sit Abit lower , remain Abit flatter and not ride like crap

I have a non PP ‘18 GT and run the progressive springs with stock shocks. Car handles much better now, but I can tell I am pushing the shocks and struts. If you are like me and prefer to cruise around over driving spirited, i think you will be ok for some time. But I do know that I will need to add their shocks and struts eventually. Personally I am working on getting the sway bars and IRS components first. Then I will save up for the shocks. Hope that helps

I know I'm reviving an old thread but I just got around to getting the Steeda parts put on the car thanks to my buddy and can tell you the car feels amazing after the alignment got done. I also installed the Steeda subframe and alignment support kit along with their rear sway bar and adjustable rear toe links. Didn't get a chance to install the front Steeda sway bar they forgot to include the mounts for the front so I gotta get in touch with them about that. I do feel the road a lot more which is to be expected but man does she feel planted now and zero wheel hop. If you can afford to do it I highly recommend getting the pro action shocks and struts to go with there lowering springs along with the adjustable bump stop kit. When I was just lowered on there springs on my other mustang the car felt squishy which was the reason I went ahead and purchased the struts and shocks this time around. I'm 100% satisfied with the results otherwise I'd tell you guys not to spend the money.

If you're getting new springs, get shocks and struts as well to compliment the springs. Do it right the first time so you're not tearing down things again. HOWEVER, be real with yourself too and don't kid yourself in that if you think your handling on the street is going to be this world's different show stopper you're dreadfully wrong. While there are gripes about the PP1 suspension on track, it's specifically that, it's the track. Not the streets. There is no way you're going to find the limits of the stock PP1 suspension on the streets unless you're being a complete lunatic. Also, acceleration lift and braking dive aren't always bad things. It depends.

Once you lower your car you need shorter struts to go with them...

The dampening ratio of the shock is calculated based on the spring rates and suspension travel.

If you have shorter springs on OE shocks you will overheat the fluid, or bottom out the shocks and blow out the seals... Guaranteed the only question is when... It could take 1 month could take 1 year...

The"bouncy" ride is due to underdampening. It's not just uncomfortable but it also tears up other parts of your car. Like the shock tower mounts and eats your wheel bearings which intern eats your wheel hubs...

Being cheap can get really expensive really quickly... So dont do it.

Always buy shocks designed to,work with those springs. Unless you're getting fully adjustables designed for lower ride heights
