I put it in the empty containers and leave outside the auto parts store's door when they are closed. That way they don't make you pour it yourself and have no choice. Learned from a friend LOL.

That's hilarious. In all seriousness, I remember many years ago my uncle lived near a gravel road. He would pour his used oil from various farm tractors, etc. on the gravel road to keep the dust down. The road in that area actually looked quite a bit like asphalt.

I guess he didn't worry about contamination of his home well water or anything from it.
I played golf at a course in Az. called San Marcos. It was the first course to use motor oil on the putting surfaces. They were sand packed down with oil. That was when they first opened decades ago. First tee shot I drilled the condos under construction with a killer slice.

I just keep a couple of sealed jugs in the garage and drop them at my local auto parts store; most of them take used oil for free with no fuss. On the rare times I’ve had way more messy garage junk than usual, I used junk removal in St Petersburg FL and they handled the oily clutter without making a big deal out of it. Keeps things simple and my garage floor a lot cleaner.

I just pour the used oil into the empty jug from the new oil and drop it off at a local auto parts store. They take it for free and it’s quick.
Bad thing about this is the car takes 8 quarts and 2 jugs are 5 quarts each...
