I own a 2017 GT, manual with 3.31 gears
Would a 2021 GT performance pack 3.55 (auto?) rear end be a direct swap? Would I be able to use that differential to install 3.73 or even 4.09 gear set? I have those gears and would like to swap them into a 2nd differential, retaining my stock one intact

I believe that would work, the one thing that has changed in the input yoke on the differentials. The 3.55 case/diff should allow you to run the 3.73+ ratios. I believe the case would be aluminum vs iron, so weight savings...I've lost track of all the different versions so take my info in that way.

You may have issues with the flanges. By the book the 2017 manual should have 113mm flange and all automatics have a 110mm flange. The rest of the diff is identical, and the only weird carriers are in 3.15 gearsets. But if you are willing to swap the flange you should be fine.

The case, cover and internals of the unit are all the same as long as you get the 3.31, 3.55 or 3.73 pumpkins. The only difference would be the input flange.

If you get a 3.15 new pumpkin, you'd have to gut it and put in all new internals from one of the 3 aformentioned gearsets since those 3.15s are a bit different.
