I currently run the steed cai with restriction the thing is that some friends are going to the 1/4 mile tomorrow they asked me if I what to go I said yeah why not (I've never gone so it will be my frist time), but in such short notice I can't get a custom tune for my steed so a friend has a diablo I know it can tune the JLT but not steed. If I use the diablo tuner could I remove the restriction and just load the tune for the JLT, would that work? Or should I just tune it like if I had no cai and leave the restriction in?

I don't recommend trying the JLT tune with the Steeda Intake. Being as we were involved with the Diablo development of the S550's tuning and the included JLT tune. The JLT Tune on the Diablo is not a generic CAI Tune. It was built specifically to the 2015 JLT Intake.

However any Diablosport Custom Tuner, like us, can write you the proper tune for the Steeda Intake with the insert removed.

Run with the production tune and insert. When you remove the insert get the Steeda tune.
The Steeda cold air without the tune has very impressive HP gains.

silver.gt as others have mentioned, you will not want to mix and match CAI's and tunes written specifically for them. You will want to run a Steeda-specific tune if you're going to be removing the insert.

my diablo 93 jlt tune was all messed up with my sw longtube headers. i would do the 93 can tune that should be fine maybe add +1 fuel. ive got a cmr tune on my car now done twice one with airrad mit and k&n filter and the other with jlt cai. my tuner said the jlt with longtubes was a pain in the ass. compared to the mit and k&n filter and longtubes on the intune.
