Those were my last two colors. I chose White based on living in a desert at the time and knowing it would be cooler and wouldn't show a lot of dust. (I have had a lot of white cars). I had a dark blue in that environment and it wasn't good. Always looked dirty (usually looked dark gray or black unless it was in sunlight) and was indeed hot.

Now that we have moved to a place with four seasons, I might have gone with DIB because I think it looks marvelous when clean, in the sun, and I care less about the heat here.

In either case, Redline interior looks awesome with both white and DIB. Highly recommended.

I don't think you can go too far wrong.

The first S550 I saw in the flesh was Oxford White. To be candid, the experience did not draw me to the new body style. To my eye, white does nothing to accentuate the new design. Also, white is the most popular automobile color in the US. For about the past eight years running. The only way I'd consider white is with two blue dorsal stripes and GT350 badges on the sides.

All that said, it's YOUR car. So, do like others have said and get the color that makes you happy. I'll even admit my last car was white. But, it was a MINI Countryman with a black top.

I really liked DIB but the longer I looked at it I could see the purple sub tones, that turned me off, I decided on the white. I liked the black with the stripe but the heat is enough to stop that thought.

Blue is my favorite color so the DIB was what I wanted and got. I have had a white mustang in the past (an 08 GT). It looked great too. I really don't think you can go wrong with either color. As others have said, look at both in person and go with your gut.

I appreciate all of the input everyone. I agree with a lot of the opinions that you all have given as well.

My idea of the best of both worlds in the scenario is Oxford with DIB stripes or at least the stripe set to make it like the GT350. I look at the combo in reverse, DIB with white stripes, and it looks just as hot. No matter what I will be doing stripes.

This will be my DD for at least the next 5 years so I know it will be something that I will need to love. My current DD is white and I really don't wash it that often, probably because I consider it more of an A to B vehicle with no personality. My last "fun" car was a boosted Miata that was silver with a little blue pearl in the paint and I washed the crap out of it all the time because I loved that car. That is what I am wanting out of this one.

I am constantly looking at dealers close to here so I can go see them in person and granted I have seen some of them while driving around town but not frequently. I know seeing it in person and taking time to look at the lines and just how it reacts to me personally is what it will take.

Any which way I am pretty sure I can't go wrong with either....besides....it won't stay stock that long :)

As I mentioned online 1000 times, I like the white with the blue stripes.... not sure so sure the other way.

Then again, I have yet to see either in person. I thought I would like the black mustang in black when I looked online. When in person, I hated it. Went magnetic.

Your ride is super clean looking! Never thought about taking to the detailer first and have someone give it a great cleaning before I take over.

It also makes me wonder that if I went white would I see the paint defects as much as the blue showed before they came out?
Keep in mind that per my detailers request I specifically told the dealer to not touch my car after taking delivery so it wasn't even washed when my guy got a hold of it. Normally it would have been detailed by them but they wouldn't have done as good a job.

That said the DIB hides imperfections pretty well and I'm not sure if the white would be as accommodating.

I also instructed my dealer not to wash mine when it arrived, to leave the rail dust on (not rubbed in ;)). I had a learning curve with a Mother's clay bar kit, sealer, and a few coats of wax, but it felt good to start with as swirl free a finish as possible. Ha, now I am destined to never run it thru a car wash, only ever do DIY car wash, which is now a much more involved and time consuming process than it used to be to keep the paint pristine.

- pressure wash the dirt and bugs off
- foam cannon apply soap to lower half of car
- two bucket wash lower paint areas, then wheels & tires (sep. bucket)
- rinse then foam rest of car and wash
- blow off w/ leaf blower and dry areas at a time, using instant detailer as I dry.

I used to just hose my car down and wash it top to bottom and dry it off, or sometimes run it thru a car wash...
ahhh, the old days!

I actually like both colors, but i went with oxford white. It looks pretty nice! They had DIB on the lot that was going to be my "back-up" car if I couldn't get a good deal on this oxford white one i wanted.

Heres mine

DIB, trust me you won't regret it! The compliments, stares, questions about the car AND color are endless. But as someone said earlier go with your gut, not comments from a forum, just my .02. Either way enjoy....

We were out in my DIB yesterday. And it really gets attention.

1. In parking lot. Had to stop for fellow to walk into a store. He slows as he walks across, smiles at us and gives a thumbs up as he crosses in front of us.

2. We park at a restaurant. Another couple is getting into their car 2 spaces over. As I open my door, the guy says "That's a nice car. The blue looks great. I love that Mustang."

3. We went to a CVS....parked out away from anyone. When we came out, there was a minivan right beside us. As we got to my car the guy sitting in the minivan, he says, "I really love your car. I had to get a close look."

Yep, I love the DIB. OW and RR were my second choices.
