Nothing major missing but when I ordered it you could have a performance pack with colored seats. A week later they rang and said that was no longer available so I cancelled. Later they called and said all the bits of the performance pack can be ordered separately and wouldn’t cost any more anyway so I went ahead. Now the special leather trim bits haven’t shown up and no one is saying if the dealer didn’t order properly or the factory didn’t build it properly. ETIS says vague things like door panels level 2 so until someone owns up I don’t know. Lunar stitching mentioned in Etis, which I assumed was silvery white to match the ceramic seats, but apart from the seats it doesn’t say where it should be. There’s none anywhere else. Not great after waiting 7 months for it to arrive.
That really does suck mate. Similar to when I had a 2017 on order and changed to DIB for my final spec only to have a Grabber Blue turn up.

For MY19 you cannot order anything other than black leather or Recaro in black with the custom pack as it has the black leather centre console. If you spec all the bits separately (and hence ceramic leather) you do not get the centre console in leather or a few other bits. It's all in the price list - see bottom of page 5.

Oh and dealers used to be able to do a one time reset on the milometer pre sale (to zero it) but they cannot do that anymore.

“Must use standalone options where required” sounds quite straightforward to me, but mostly I relied on the salesman who promised in writing that the leather centre console and other parts would be included.

Besides what colour other than black would you want the centre console to be? As it has turned up the console is black anyway. How can their silly reason be valid?

Whatever the logic I know what I was promised, and right now I feel deceived. Furthermore the wear and tear on the tread plate, lower trim seat base, door card, and lower dash panel suggest the 44.5 miles was done by a herd of donkeys.

I’m not a happy bunny.

I don't know the reasons, but it is there in B&W in the price list so not much you can argue with Ford about. If you have it in writing from the dealer then you may have some comeback from them. To be honest they should know the products they are selling better than they did from the sound of it. I'm buying mine through a local dealer who have a relationship with a Ford Store for RS and Mustang - my local dealer knew the product well despite having only sold 5 new Mustangs. I had already read the price list, but my dealer pointed out the black leather and custom pack bit to me unprompted.

44.5 miles does seem a lot - I will be interested to see what mine has when it arrives. I would think 5 or 6 miles whilst moving it around onto trains and boats would be about right.

Hi. I'm new here. Not got a mustang yet but had a gt on order since July. I was originally told January for delivery, then 3rd March. My dealer really knows nothing at all and by trawling this thread I realise that's normal. I've asked for a VIN number but no joy there. Karen hasn't replied to me either. So not a great experience so far! Anyway, minor breakthrough today. The dealer says the car is now built and was gate released on the 26th. No idea what that means. Lol. Can some kind soul on here please shed some light on what gate released means?! My understanding from the op is that 3rd March isn't looking likely! Cheers

If it was gate released (Left Flat Rock) 26th Jan then 3rd March will be a bit tight. It takes a couple of weeks to Baltimore, another couple of weeks to Liverpool then another couple to the dealer.

Not sure why a July order has taken so long ? I ordered September and was built 17th December.

Hi and welcome :like:
If the car is built get them to give you the vin, then you can check when it was built and if it’s the right spec as I would not trust some dealers, I ordered MY19 in June and it was delivered in October, so this is very late for a July order

Thanks for the replies. I have no idea why it has taken so long. I wouldn't mind so much if there was a bit more information given. I would like to check the spec. It alarms me that they get it wrong on a near 50k car! Anyway it looks like it's not a million miles away now. By the way, assuming I can't check the spec prior to delivery, and it's wrong, what happens then? Do I have to wait another 8 months for the right one? Tbh magnaride is the only big extra I put on that I'll be proper cheesed off if not installed. Thanks again

I would give them a ring and get the vin or pop in and see them, they will have the vin for sure, this will give you the ability to check the build sheet, what you have to watch with some dealers is either they forget to order it to a lot later or it is sat in the compound and they will not let you know until they want to sell the car to make certain figures for the month

mine had 65 miles (delivery) on the clock when I went to pick it up ( a year ago) - I thought that was a little excessive! A quick chat with the sales manager resulted in a full tank of petrol and loads of Ford "goodies" - oh and flowers to the wife (delivered next day) - it is worth mentioning stuff you arent happy with!

Let's be clear here - they are not misbuilds or wrong spec. It may be dealer misinformation, but the price list is very clear and if you have checked this out and checked your order then don't worry. It will have been built to the order spec in 99.99999% of cases. If it's wrong (which it won't be) then they can't magic it to spec unless it is something simple like a change of wheels ! Retrofitting some things would be very difficult.

If you now have your VIN then you can check out the details on ETIS (just Google Ford ETIS). You need to register to get full access but it is free. Your dealer will have had access to the full VIN for a while and the partial VIN for ages and with this info you can find the Window sticker for the build. There is limited information on this but now you have the car built ETIS will have everything. Some of the things are a bit hard to follow from the description but Magneride shows as 'with adaptive damping control'

My dealer was able to supply my partial VIN about 5 weeks after order, so it has been simple to follow the process through. Be aware that UK dealers systems don't give them access to the window sticker - you need to go via the US website.

Cheers. That makes me feel better. The order form I saw had the correct spec on it. I'll pop into the dealer tomorrow and try and get the VIN.
