You cant ask people on here. Almost everyone here can trade a car in 5 months after buying it and end up making 2k on the deal.
2k? Seems kinda low from what I've heard here. Waiting to hear about the straight swap GT to GT350 while increasing payment by $20 a month.

Idk what you guys do wrong but I average 20 and get 23-25 on the hwy with 3.73s
The OP drives bumper to bumper...I'm currently averaging like 10mpg, I rarely drive highway and drive street the majority of the time. A bunch of stop light and stop and go's says bye-bye to fuel efficiency.

I get 24-25 on the highway as well however, I'm on the highway about 1% of the time. I average 12.5-13 on an "actual" tank of gas.

As an alternative, you may be able to get into a newer commuter car without having a whole lot of money come out of pocket and keep your Mustang if you can find something getting 35+ miles per gallon. Based on some of your replies, it looks like you're spending $500 on gas (assumed $3.60/gallon) but if you picked up something getting 35mpg that cost would drop to around $255 (assuming fuel is roughly $3.35 like it was in LA last week for 87). That would free up $245/month that could be used on another vehicle and insurance. This assumes you're comfortable with your current expenses. Just another alternative to think about.

Not with cruise control on 80
Everytime I see highway fuel mileage numbers, I have to step back and realize that most people are talking about 60mph cruising speeds.

If I drove 60mph on the highway here in Texas, I'd probably get rear ended. Cruise control is always set to 80 for me (actually 76 now with my taller tires).

I have a bunch of stop lights so I never hit full cruising MPG. However, I did go from 13 mpg over a 7 mile drive to 21 mpg on a 34 mile drive.

I've never seen anything higher than 18.9 avg on mine. But then again I've never reset the thing while I'm cruising on the highway

The one I have never reset is at 24.2 avg on mine. The one I reset gets up to 28 before slowly dropping to 24.

NADA is generally closer than KBB but they're typically good indicators of value. You'll lose money on a sale in the first year regardless unless you made a large down payment (which you'll lose).
That's about what I found. I think it's because, from what I gather, KBB doesn't do regional adjustments, and NADA does, so NADA is going to be closer that what the dealer will blind-bid for your trade.

I also did find AutoTrader to be a pretty good estimator for you trade if you fill out all the details accurately - it was pretty much spot on with where my dealer started the numbers.
