Hi All,

I am going to hookup my Deltran Battery Tender to the Mach 1 and put it to bed for the winter. Can anyone tell me if the battery is positive grounded or negative grounded? According to the instructions with the tender it appears to make a difference in how it is connected... Thanks!

….seriously ??????
The last positively grounded vehicle was at least 70 years ago with the switch to 12v system

Positive is never ground. Ground is chassis. You can check with a DMM.

It’s a negative ground vehicle. Positive chassis vehicles are rare and are usually industrial or foreign in nature but do rarely exist.

Is it better to connect the minus cable to chassis or to a negative battery port? I've been always connecting it to battery post on other cars. First to positive, then to negative, always charged fine.

Great that voltage can be checked in the computer with engine turned off. Known idle voltage to SoC table easily tells charge of the battery without messing with cover and voltmeter.

Make no difference since the battery is negatively grounded but it’s is considered safer to be on the chassis in case of sparks

I also have the Deltran and used the included battery adapter to permanently have the connection. It's the adapter with eye rings on the end. Removed battery terminal nuts slipped on eye rings and reinstalled nuts. Run cable out the rubber flap/hole in the battery cover.
