just for shits and giggles... they all show the same part number eurospec to 49 state from the v6 to the v8... if they are actually the same part number then are you going to pay for the difference in price? That part number you see there is a reference number... when you get down to VIN numbers and have a parts rep look up the actual part number... it will be different... if that is true that is exactly the same way rhe toyota parts system works too... broken down by VIN... and the actual part number is completely different and in no relation to that reference number... How do I know?? I work for a forklift dealership...ultimately owned by Toyota corp. I deal with parts all the time

So checking order guide, the GT PP is the only package that is 50 states stock. The rest are mandatory for CA states and optional for cross-border states. AZ is cross-border, so you'd just want to make sure you have it added, assuming you aren't getting the PP.

That said, Phoenix Metro is basically CA emissions, I'm not sure you could get away with registering a car here without it anyway. When I originally ordered an EB PP from Bell, they told me they needed to add it since I was living in the emissions control area.
You can have 50 state emissions but that is the federal guideline, California emissions is a little more... it may or may not pass with current California regs

If there is no certification on the cat itself... can fail a California emissions... California laws are so jacked up as far as the dmv is concerned

Hmm... then why does it require California emissions as well... I was reading up on the 50 state... which was part of the mandate by epa from the Obama administration... 50 state can or cant pass the ca emissions.. ca is generally more strict... in otherwords tougher on emissions.... it even goes down to fuels formulation like less sulphurs and other additives to control the emissions... different tags/markings on the cats..... I am not certain if there is a tune to the ecu for that.... I need to check with what Texas is but I am pretty sure it's 49state

CA Resident here, so I know how nazi the California Air Resources Board is. So like many people have said, 50 state emissions is valid in ALL 50 states.

When a car is built with CA Emissions, its just built to meet the strictest CA emissions requirement, and that can be used in all 50 states, because CA is a tree hugger hippy state.
Also, the emissions requirement in no way "nerf" the engine power. There are cars with PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) that might affect engine power.

I remember a couple years ago before I bought my current car, I was looking at GTI's that were PZEV, and the had less hp than the others in different states.

So maybe we can conclude that CA emissions does not affect engine power at all but its just different cats and a different ECU tune due to the differing octane levels found only in california?

Just because they have the same cat does not mean they are the same across the board? A lot of Cali cars used to be slightly detuned with fuel and timing curves to meet emissions. I'm not saying the 15 is or isnt, I'm just saying the cat proves nothing.
Just going to quote my own post that was sidestepped, with even more info on catalytic converters, this may or may not be valid in the discussion. I just know what I have stated is fact. I'll also be the first to tell you I have no clue about the 15's timing or fuel curve maps. But what I do know, is Kali emissions have made changes in the past. This I know as a computer programmer, mechanic, and all around mustang enthusiast.

I've driven trucks and cars both in texas and California of the same and I was able to tell a difference.... they seemed bogged down...not much but could definitely feel the power difference
