Did wheels/tires/lowering day car was bought. Exhaust was on order so that went on about 3 days later (Magnaflow cat-back). Then put on the PP k brace and strut tower brace (i have non PP). I dont really wanna tint the windows at the moment, I'll fish bowl it for a while...Im Creative Director for Hypertech so as soon as tuning is released, thats going on too...We have a 16 here now doing some confirming, etc.

I always adress the areas that i can live with the least. For me it was exhaust. My current car is an auto. Next is suspension. I have the boxes of steeda stuff to be installed when i drop off my car for a naturally aspirated build, which brings up the 3rd thing "power", coming off a paxton charged 2012 with 641 rwhp Im going all out on this build, but no boost this time...cant get done soon enough...

Who installs a shifter as a first mod?

First mods are always without question: lowering springs and exhaust.

Honestly, I have had a lot of Mustangs over the years. Shifting has been a big issue in all of them. A shifter has always been a welcomed mod. However, in my 16 I have no issues shifting with the stock shifter. The previous models would shift ok until you got up into the rpms but this not the case on my 16. Shifts in my case are easy at any rpm.

First mods should be tint and exhaust. To me springs should be later after you've had time to actually take the car on some curves to see how it feels. There is no need replacing suspension parts if you can't even utilize stock. If you are replacing them just for cosmetics, definitely not. You should do springs when you replace your wheels to a different OEM spec.

A lowered car on stock wheels looks better than a stock height car on aftermarket wheels.

That's not my point. Anything looks better over stock suspension. But if someone is trying to mod in sequence from the best first mods, springs are not in the top 3 for this car. Tint will always be my first mod on any car. Exhaust will usually be second because factory is always restrictive. OP has MT so clutch spring would be the next one to start getting the best feeling/return from his car.

Usually better to start with the small things, then go bigger. A lot of people have a tendency (myself included) of modding the shit out of their cars from the get-go then they end up selling them. I see it all the time!

I'd follow with changing out to LED lights and cosmetics, then move to better wheels and springs. Springs require realignment so why not do them when you get new wheels/tires as well. Stock tires usually look better with lowering but still not that great because the offsets.

This question has no right answer, it's all subjective and I'm just giving mine!:cheers:
