For sure you want the full set. Mismatch tire on the performance car is a big nono. You could introduce some heavy over or understeer depends on the grip of the tire you changed.

When the time comes should I sell the fronts to get alittle cash? The cost of insurance on my car wasn't much more than my truck that I had previous. Considering I have taken every safety class possible, no tickets, and no accidents which results in not to bad of a insurance cost.

PSSs are my go to; best all-rounders in their class even for the money. I'm not as weary of my PZeros as I thought I would be leading up to the delivery, but I'm still kicking them to the curb for some Michelins as soon as that tread is gone.
I agree, too.

I have liked the stock Pzero's so far. They grip well when warm as I have pushed my car a bit the last week since we have had temps in the 70's and near 80.

I will be ordering my MPSS at the end of this month. I am going with 275/35/20 and 315/35/20's on the Bathurst's (20x10 and 20x11).

God i wish i had your Parents! I had to buy my own car and pay for the insurance when i got my first car.. It was a 87 olds Cutlass with a Chevy 350ci dropped in it,.. Not to shabby i guess. I owned alot of v8's in my time..But As i got older these new Turbo cars are intriguing to me.. IDK especially with the crazy gas prices over the last couple years.. Love the Tuning capability to get alot of power from them but still have lower insurance cost and amazing gas mileage..
These turbo cars are for sure, very intriguing. I had a 85.5 SVO and loved it.

I am embracing the path Ford is taking with the Ecoboost. The I4 and the V6. I think it is a great platform and provides for endless mods and power levels. They are moving in the right direction.

Just to add in, I'll be going to college soon and will be doing more highway miles. Would that change anything?

If you want the best for your ride, MPSS. A slight downgrade would be the Continental DW. Cheaper with most of the performance maintained. I would stick with a Summer tire, though. No point in all seasons if you don't need to drive in subzero temps. Even then, it's no the end of the world, just be careful.

Anyone know anything personally about the Michelin Sport Plus 100V? Hurts the bank but has a UTQG: 500AAA

It has a high treadwear rating because it's just an all-season compound, so don't confuse it with the PSS accolades.

Here it is against other A/S tires... older comparison. Look at the Conti DWS; cheaper and better overall value if you're going for something like that. If you don't have any snow to bother with, consider the Conti DW instead.

Bottom line, if you don't want to compromise your car's handling and grip characteristics, try to avoid A/S tires (and the UHP category altogether for that matter). If you're not pushing the car hard, then go for them. You won't miss the added benefits if you're not pushing it hard.

That's the thing I'm not pushing the car hard atleast I don't think I am. I'm 18 I don't plan on racing anytime soon nor want to wreck my car. But if there is such a huge difference between A/S vs. Summer Tires, I will get the Summer tires because that's one thing I don't want to compromise is handling.

If you're not pushing it you should really just spring for all-seasons. It's not worth the extra money, reduced practicality, and increased treadwear to go with summers.

Holy cow. Are you on 18"? I'm seeing the PILOT SPORT A/S 3's for between 200 - 220 each. Heck right now you can get them installed with free alignment (if you get 4) + nitrogen inflation (all tires) for $236 a tire, including free life time rotation at Tire Discounters. Or 274 per tire with dealer install + 70 mail in rebate if you get 4.

What size tire are you looking at?

an 18 year old high school senior down my block from my house got a '15 premium GT with the PP and auto back in November at msrp. I can only imagine how much his total cost a month is on that car, payments/insurance/gas. When I was 18 I drove a clunker and my parents told me good luck getting a cosigner ): lol

I am going to get Continental Extreme Contact DWS. (Dry, Wet, Snow) It is a ultra high performance All-Weather tire. It also has a 50,000 mile warranty but reviewers have said it has lasted beyond 100,000 which means this tire pays for it self over its lifetime. The reviews on this tire has been extremely positive.

FWIW, I only got about 40K miles on my set with my '11. The "S" will wear off the tire first in the first 10-15K miles severly hampering snow performance. Still a good tire, but there are drawbacks.
