UPDATE: It appears I was given false information, so the delay has been debunked. The 2015 is still on schedule.

I was talking to a dealer today about the 2015 and he told me that they just found out that deliveries have been delayed until January, according to a new Ford fleet bulletin they got this week. I was expressing slight interest in getting a 2014 instead, so it could be that he was just making it up to sway my decision.

But if this is true, then that really sucks (for some of us at least). Anyone else hear this or have another source?

i would not e suprised...
reminds me off what happened to the introduction of the new Mondeo (sold as Fusion in the US) and the new Transit van (now worldwide)
both models are terribly delayed

And the dealer may just want to sell what he already has.
Once the 2015 models hit,a dealer better not have a 2014 in stock,or it will sit a very long time.

I hope this is incorrect. Releasing it in the dead of winter? The 2016 models could be rolling off the line 4 or 5 months after that. This would be one super short run. (Keeping fingers crossed for being incorrect.)

It might be telling if you ask your dealer to show you the printout of that information. If the answer is 'no', ask why not? :)

Good point. I'm attempting to get ahold of someone in Ford Customer Service to see if they can confirm or deny this Distribution memo. I hope it is nothing more than the dealer trying to sell remaining 2014's.

Have a friend go to the dealer and show no interest in the 2014, and express interest in putting down a deposit for a 2015 but unsure if it's too early..... that Ford fleet bulletin might just magically say that deliveries could come earlier than expected ;)

They're probably delaying them for that purpose. They want to get every single 2014 off the lot and gone so there are no Mustangs in showrooms when these babies arrive. It'll ensure they maximize transaction return on the 2014s, and it'll create some false demand for the 2015s.

January is a huge delay, but I wouldn't blame them if it happens.

I think this is a dealer creating a situation to encourage an early sale. In my experience in watching the 2005 and 2010 model revisions come to market, once order dates were communicated, they didn't change. Typically it was last minute quality concerns just before or after (within 4 weeks of production start) that delayed shipping to dealers date.

In the words of the late, great Norman Schwarzkopf... Bovine Scatology!

ZERO possibility that this is delayed until January.

Dealers are usually the last to know things like this... And this forum the first!! Sounds like nonsense.

i mean can u imagine if this was true....they could reveal it AGAIN on december 5, 2014 and show us some more how they did the clay models in NAIAS 2015! :D

i think your dealer is prolly just a slick one. if there was a ford bulletin that pushed date back i bet it would be all over the internet by now.

There are people on this board who should know whether it's true or not. I'd sure feel better if one of them would shoot the rumor down here on this thread.

That would be a wrong move for Ford. Especially when they made this big campaign to introduce it early Feb 2013.
If they wait that long, people will lose interest and the hype will be gone.
Similar to what Chevy did with the Camaro. Introduce it in Transformers and take forever to release it.
