Hey everyone,

First off this forum is amazing and I have enjoyed reading the opinions and experiences f so many people. The car is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Coming from A Camaro SS 1LE I couldn't be happier.

Brings me tot he dealer experience,

Wasn't completely bad but wasn't good.

I was talked into a simonize coat for 1300 roughly, the job was terrible, large scratches everywhere and really didn't look amazing. They didn't do the paint correction and rushed it out. I got the paint corrected and re ceramic coated and it looks AMAZING. Ford did refund me about 75% of the horrible simoniz job.

They did not give me the spare key FOB and it turned into several weeks of this, partly my fault but the dealer was rather far away and I work a lot.

So for the first oil change I went to the dealer and got the back up key, but somehow after the oil change and pulling my car back to the front, THEY LOST MY KEY AGAIN. This makes me nervous having my key out there and any employee there could easily find my address which makes a car jacking job easier. I know it is highly unlikely and I'm just being paranoid and haven't said this to the manager but this is a thought and the manager doesn't seem to be taking the problem it as seriously as me.

Maybe its the added up problems when buying one of FORD's high end cars and I expected a much smoother experience that has caused me to get upset about this but my question is do I have any reason to be mad or should I let them just get me a new key and not raise much of a stink.. Any experience in anything like this form anyone.

Thanks

If you keep the car garaged, theft isn't too huge of a concern, but its always possible. And it does seem very suspicious to me that a lot porter would just "lose" your key when not doing so is a basic function of their job.

Not only should they buy you a new key, but they should delete all key data before adding the new and your original back to the car. That way the "lost" one is useless. Also try going to a different dealer afterwards. I've found personally that the less a dealer touches your car, the higher your quality of life is.

Thanks guys, Is this something that needs to be demanded? I am done with this dealership for sure but I want to leave without a problem if possible. I hate going to the dealer for work and try to avoid if at all possible. But with oil changes I thought for warranty I need to go there . But def the last visit to this one.

I'd make a stern demand, yes. I'd also personally want to watch the process, but that's something they'll likely fight you on.

Just as a warning, a lot of dealerships don't seem to treat GT350/500 owners any better than a kid with a Focus. I think that's one of Ford's flaws as a brand, the dealership experience is exactly the same for everyone. That's great if the dealer is a good dealer, but if you're surrounded by crappy dealers, you'll never have a good experience. Ford isn't the only brand like this by any means, and it's disappointing, but just be prepared to be disappointed again.

People should treat other people’s stuff as if it’s their own.
Oh wait, some people don’t take care of anything.

I appreciate the warning.. I have had heard this about Ford. It is too bad because when you have a good purchase/dealer experience you remember it, you tell others and look forward to going back.

But oh well, lessons learned I suppose.

+1.

Do NOT accept a new key programmed to your old code. Demand, I repeat demand, a new key (and your spare) programmed to a new code.

I will do so. I have already spoken with the general manager and told him this needed to be done for my satisfaction and he agreed. Thanks for the input

Just this question... how’d you get home from the dealership after the oil change if they lost the only key you had?

Reading the story, he wasn't given the spare key FOB in the first place. He goes in for an oil change and they find it for him but then they lose it whiles he's there. He drives home with his one and only key FOB he was issued in the beginning. Now he's worried the oil change monkey will steal his car when he's out of town.

Copy... I’m tracking now. I thought his selling dealer, being far away, was different than his oil change dealer.

thanks for the clarification.
