Dealership for first couple oil changes?

ah correction 8. A lot of oil. Even getting the "jug" special it's only 5 quarts plus the filter, still need to buy 3 more. So $35 if you get the special at say Autozone for 5 qts synthetic and a filter, and then another $27 in extra quarts. $62 just in material.

Dealership may just be cheaper due to their bulk buying of oil and they send out service coupons all the time.

Correct. My local Ford dealer charges $80 for a full synthetic Motorcraft 5W-20 oil change. Very much worth it for me.

Thanks for the input. I had my warranty voided for simple mods in the past so I'm just trying to be extra careful. Did anyone get any free maintenance for the first couple months, years, etc?

My dealer wants $40 for a oil change: filter + synthetic blend. $75 for filter + full synthetic. Is Motorcraft full synthetic oil that more expensive?

Something just feels 'right' about changing your own oil. I know it was fully drained, I know the filter is snug, I know the plug is tight, I know exactly how much oil went back in to the ounce. The peace of mind is worth the extra money and time suck on a Saturday morning.

My dealer even offers free oil changes for the life of the car.

My dealer gives 3 free oil changes the first year. Already had one at 2,000 miles. Will get another one in a couple months at 5,000 and my last free one right before the year mark in December.
