  1. Latest Sync Update for a 2017 Mustang?

Latest version is 3.0.2xx I would not do the 3.4 upgrade as there are hardware difference to the 2020 mustang. I would just wait for Ford to release the update and play it safe.
  2. New Engine required :(

The radiator hose cant just fall off even if you drive it like a maniac. This means they did poor installation and did not pressure test it. If they did not even do this basic checks god knows what else they did not do during your new engine installation.
  3. 2018 MUSTANG GT RECOMMENDED OIL IN AUSTRALIA

It is important to note here its not just 5W-30 but it has to be 5W-30 A5. This oil is a FE (Fuel Efficient) 5w-30 oil. It has lower viscosity than normal 5W30 but thicker than 5W-20. I am guessing its because we live in a warmer climate.
  4. Car in for new engine at dealers and stolen last night!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought your engine is dead? How do they drive away with a dead engine?
  5. My engine is deceased.....

No you certainly dont need to warm up the engine before driving it. The Penrite 5W-30 that meets the ford spec is A5, it is more like between 5W-20 to 5W-30 in thickness. Just pouring the oil through a funnel you can see that the Penrite 5w-30 drains faster than normal 5W-30. So it would flow...
  6. Future buyer; fuel economy of GT versus EcoBoost

Ive done about 9000km in nearly 2 years. I averaged 12.3l/100 on my GT.
  7. 2018 MUSTANG GT RECOMMENDED OIL IN AUSTRALIA

It is the official Ford Dealer that uses 5w-40 engine oil I am not sure why. So if anything goes wrong well its their fault. No they dont use/have motorcraft oil either but they do use motorcraft oil filter. Motorcraft oil is just rebranded conoco phillips oil if im not mistaken.
  8. 2018 MUSTANG GT RECOMMENDED OIL IN AUSTRALIA

My Ford dealer uses 5W-40 for servicing all Ford cars. Our owners manual specify 5W-30 A5 (Fuel efficient) engine oil. One thing i notice with the 5W-30 A5 engine oil usage is a lot higher than say 5W-40. I have not had to top up so far and oil level is still at max.
  9. Oil cooler failure - first hand experiences?

I dont know if adding cooler to a car with no problem is a good idea. Its like fixing something that is not broken. The more things you add the more piping and parts are added. It would just be additional point of failure in the future such as hoses, clamps etc.
  10. Oil cooler failure - first hand experiences?

18+ will give u the bbq tick
  11. Oil cooler failure - first hand experiences?

This looks legit. Who posted this TSB? It took Ford until 12 Feb 2019 to issue this TSB.
  12. Dealer service engine oil.

Guys, I just noticed that the Ford dealer who serviced my car uses a 5w-40 full synthetic oil. This is not an issue. I am happy that they use full synthetic. However, the manual calls for 5w-30. I am shocked that Ford dealer would use engine oil that does not meet the ford spec WSS-M2C913D for...
  13. Start up procedure

No need to warm up. Letting the engine idle is waste of gas.
  14. Seriously.. I have the ‘engine rattle UK

Ok first of all you need to record from the drivers side (RHD) below the car and rev it to around 2k. If you are not hearing anything then there is no rattle. Any type of rattle is not normal and should be reported ASAP. Make sure there is enough engine oil in the engine. I have 2017 GT and...
  15. Oil cooler questions

Its the exact same part just different build date. I have seen 18 GT with 17 build date for the oil cooler. It is the exact same one. It is hard to see with naked eyes when you are underneath the car. My advise is to take a photo with your smartphone you can see the build date clearly once you...
  16. First service at 4k miles?

My oil change indicator pretty much telling me to change engine oil every 6 months. Oh well oil is cheap and takes little time to do it why not.
  17. 2018 Exhaust

Go with a cat back system. The original exhaust is very restrictive and very heavy. I did my own exhaust so I know how heavy it is. The original exhaust had the suitcase style resonator. My advise is get the Borla S-Type. Loud only when on wide open throttle. The weight saving is a bonus and...
  18. Oil cooler questions

The problem is the car might be built in 2017 but fitted with a defective cooler made in mid 2016. You can see the built date by looking at the cooler ifself. I just don't believe ford will sell tens of thousands of time bombs to the market. The brand damage will be too great. A tuner will...
  19. Oil cooler questions

Your car build date is april 2017. You should not be affected by the oil cooler issue. 2018 mustang gt rhd have the same oil cooler and at the same location I am sure if position was the problem Ford would have addressed it in 2018 model but thats not the case.. same cooler same location same...
