The bigger screw with the hex head is the actual correct licence plate screw. The small one with the rounded head is not the correct one.

However him missing the raised pilot hole is a major fuck up lol. There's more "meat" in that area for the screw to bite into.

Probably the same kid that washed and swirled your car with a dirty ass wash mitt was the same one who installed the plate.

It's this reason exactly that I request that the plates not be installed by the dealer. Just say you have a ritual of putting the new plates on your cars firstor some BS story why and they won't put them on.

Want to bet the moron was using a power tool? Oh and wearing gloves, what BS...

Sad to read this, paint match is a concern .

That manager needs to be trained or moved to a new position.

I recommend sending a note to the GM of the dealership and asking for a remedy. There is clear negligence on the part of the dealership technician. If you don't get anywhere hammer them on the survey. The survey is a very big deal for dealers. I am in awe of the manager's response after he told you to get a quote.

And, I would agree with the masses...don't get a new bumper. Paint rarely matches 100%. While it looks terrible, the repair is actually pretty easy.

How much was the estimate? If its going to stay with you and just wear on you I’d take them to small claims court. It’s cheap, easy, and they’ll end up paying. This is assuming the dealer is local to you.

So the manager at the dealership asked me to get an estimate.
I called my local Ford dealership to find out who they used then went there and got one.
I sent it to the manager and his reply was that they sold the car cheap and didn't leave any room to cover these things and would be unable to cover the cost of the repair.
I`ve sent an email to the gm/owner of the dealership group and we`ll wait to see what his response is.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?
Is there any option to return the car and get your money back?

Not trying to make lite of the damage done, it's wrong alway anyone could slice it.

Knowing that the dealer has less then professional employees. The question is why give them a second bite of the apple.

If they cannot get a simple tag on a car, why would I let them have the car to repaint or replace a major part, such as this.

So I ask the following, is it possible to frame the tag and hide the damage.

The picture first, the boss that should have been used, appears in tack, and could be pre drilled and used.

I actually tapped these holes so a regular bolt could be used. I know obsessive, but I hate those screws.

I think something like this will hide it.

advantage
#1 don't have to take the car back, and take the chance something else getting fucked up or even worse a scratch. This is after all hidden

#2 knowing it will be done correctly

#3 I know the owner and he is very capable of pulling this off.

Just something to ponder, not only that it is a nice black aluminum frame,

classic FORD oval,

white lettering FORD PERFORMANCE < Subtle but profound

Cheers

sad to say but I am not surprised you are having this type of experience with a dealership.

go right to Ford Corporate with proof of the damage and what the manager said to you.

you’ll never get a survey from the dealership. They are not stupid, they’ll make it so you don’t get one because they know they messed up.

tell us what dealership this is.

you should tell us who this dealer is even if they don’t blow you off
that’s one of the reasons why we are here in the forum, to help each other out and keep one another from suffering through ordeals like this one.

either way, good luck you man.

Something tell’s me the quote or estimate you gave them was high and that’s why they are pushing back. That repair is easily in the range of 2-2.5hrs of body time and another of equal or lesser for paint time. A decent tech could beat that time by 2-3 to 1. If your trying to get your car fixed I get it, but if your trying to stick it to them for an employee’s mistake then that’s a whole different deal. Best of luck either way.

I've seen this many times. Friggin savages .
Know how u feel. its wrong that the experience of a new car has to be ruined by incompetent management.
Perhaps its a idiot who did it. But the bigger idiot is the branch manager that has no control over his staff.
