We took them off the site to prevent backorders for our retail customers. I apologize for not responding sooner, but I just returned to the office after attending Mustang Week with our S550

Thanks for your patience everyone, we've put a lot of work into these bulbs!

Nick C.
Any idea when we'll be able to get these new bulbs? Just got back from Mustang week as well :headbang:

Mine worked a week and then one stopped switching to amber-- just white worked. I called them and they said I would not get a replacement until August some time, as they are redesigning the internals of the bulb to make it work better.

We have a new shipment with the revised circuit design coming in August

Thanks for the update Nick! Is the revised circuit design the one Ugly John posted a picture of up above?

It is shorter in overall length than the previous model

Hey DD,

When will these be back up on your site? The new revised model. Also this revised model, does it blink back to LED inbetween amber blinks while turning?

Thanks,

Brice

Yes they do Brice. I have the revised prototype from DD and I have been testing them for a month now in dubai (its 122 F here) . I can confirm they are working flawlessly.

Thanks for the reply, and i'm glad they're working so well. I believe they have the revised bulbs, but they aren't for sale for people looking to buy for first time (on their site). it seems they are just sending those out to people that previously bought the bulbs. Which stinks:brokenheart:

While I've got you, did you have to buy the additional piece to fix the fast blinking inside the cabin? Still new to the whole switchback idea, so looking for a good review. The ebay lights seem to be pretty shady with the LED blinking when the amber isn't, and inside cabin blinking fast.

Installed mine yesterday, no flickering so far
The old ones are heading back to you guys right now Nick. Thanks for getting this resolved. It was kind of embarrassing seeing those things flicker at night, and I was concerned that a cop would bust me for "impersonating a police officer" if they'd seen the lights flickering while on the road.

I contacted Nick C this past week. One of my DD bulbs that I installed a couple months ago
ago will now not go on. They sent me an RMA link yesterday and are sending me the new ones this week. I hope the new ones work. It's a PIA to have to do this multiple times. If the new ones don't last, I'm done with DD. If they dare good, then I'll be happy and will post on here in a couple months after I've had time to use them and see if they last without issues.

I can definitely see how being shorter would help with the flicker. The original bulbs seemed pretty big and heavy to me. Mine stopped flickering so I probably won't go through the hassle of replacing them with the new ones unless they start up again.

After seeing mine flickering in the reflection of someones car I took them out to check pin alignment in the socket, the passenger side pins got caught in the socket somehow and got bent out of shape when I took the bulb out. Spent some time trying to get them straight and lined up again. I haven't noticed any flickering yet since I put them back in but I was worried about a cop thinking it was intentional also because it would literally flash 3 times on the passenger side and then immediately flash 3 times on the drivers side. I like the idea of the shorter overall bulb. Much better design. If I notice more flickering in the future I may have to swap them for the shorty design or just go back to ambers.

Lots of folks here have grown to love the fast blinking inside. In fact, that was what was really driving me crazy when I had to put my OEM bulbs in while waiting for my replacements. When I first got the DD bulbs, I thought I was going to get the in-line resistor as soon as it came out, but then I realized that the fast clicking is pretty neat.

And just to be sure it's clear - at night the bulbs are white, when you turn on your turn signal, they first go out completely, then the yellow starts flashing with no white at all. when you signal is turned off, you get a brief pause before it goes back to white. So it goes yellow-pause-yellow-pause-yellow-pause....

it does not go yellow-white-yellow-white-yellow-white...

Ahh awesome review and information John, I haven't been a huge fan of the fast blinking but if it will still let me do the "quick pull down" feature that clicks 3 times (I love it for lane changing) then I wouldn't care about it being fast.

So these lights are on all other times right, not just night? regardless, I LOVE that it doesn't go orange white orange, I didn't like that look. I don't mind the pauses either.

I just really want DD to send me some of the new ones, but haven't heard anything and can't just order them online.

Did I miss it? No resistors equals no triple flash too?
