DD Switchbacks - Where have they gone?

Has anyone been able to order the switchbacks lately? They seem to be gone from their site.:shrug:

Spoke to them on the phone 2 days ago, they are currently unavailable as they are re-developing how the base of the bulb fits in the socket. I guess a few people had the previous ones pop out into the corner light assembly or something so they want to make sure its a secure snug fit.

I got my warranty replacements today. Last week they said that they were going to take care of all warranty claims before reposting them on the site.

My folks are visiting, so I haven't put them in yet.

This is a different bulb than before. I'll get pics when I have a chance.

A lot of people are having issues where the bulb starts flickering after a while.

I've had mine in for about a month with no issues so far though.

same here. I had the flickering issue twice with the Diode Dynamics, but they sorted me out last week by sending me prototype bulbs for free after doing major revisions to the bulbs. I must say that they are flawless now. I live in DUBai, and its 115 F here so they are really working fine!

I've had my on since March but only logged about 1500 miles so far and just started noticing that my left side tends to flicker. They haven't popped out of the socket or anything like that just the flickering, And its only the drivers side. I just double checked that they were sitting right which they were. How do I go about getting a replacement? I got them from cjpony, do I contact cjpony or DD directly?

I put the new ones in last night, and they fit in the sockets MUCH better, and much firmer.

The bulb part is different on these - it's shorter with less metal at the base. But, they still light up the same. I took pics of the new and old bulbs together - the older version is at the top, the ones I just installed on the bottom. I couldn't see an obvious difference between the bases, but something changed.

Also, While I had one fall out a while ago, the bulb part broke off from the base - it looked like a bad glue job. I'm not sure if the bulb broke causing it to fall out, or if falling out broke the bulb. Either way, DD shipped the new ones out as soon as they had them.


Bottom line: these new ones seem to fit in the sockets much, much better.

Oh, and it's so nice to have my clickety-clack galloping pony turn signal noise back again. I really missed it!
