I'll be doing a HPDE event at Daytona next month. Wondering out loud.... Does the extended time at high speeds on the oval cool down the brakes significantly before entering turn 1 of the infield section, or do you still see similar brake temps as on other shorter more technical courses?

I don't know what the brake temps were but mine (PP1) seemed to be worked harder/hotter slowing for the bus stop than for turn 1. The brakes worked well the whole day though.

Of course. The more you drive (and the faster you drive) without touching the brakes is going to cool them down more than if you were on the brakes often and going slower speeds not allowing them to cool down in between times of use. Your fluid temps will probably be the same, but the pad and rotor temps will be significantly lower.
