Picked up my new GT from the dealer yesterday. Trying to configure all the settings and there is no option in the Vehicle Lighting section of settings to disable the daytime running lights, as indicated in the manual. The only option available is the Autolamp Delay. Why is that? I don't live in Canada, so I don't need them.

Not sure where, but there's a thread with like four billion posts about these DRLs.

I think the TL;DR is that you're out of luck if you don't want them on.

Edit: Jimmy the wizard on point.^

Short of pulling the fuse or physically destroying the bulb, you can't.

Jimmy ... ur solutions are bang on... I don get it.. either people ignore it or do not know.. That US government has made compulsory the DRLs in all cars.

2. Also uSe of headlights while using wipers has become a norm.

So either u can break the DRLs( which are actually the most catchy part of ur car)

Or blow the fuse

Which fuse is it?
33 (driver's side) and 35 (passenger side) of the fuse diagram on page 202 of the owner's manual.

It'll disable your entire headlight assembly, so you'll have to put the fuses back in to drive at night. It'll possibly also disable your front turn signals; not sure on that part.

Well, I don't want to disable my headlights. There must be some connector on the back of the headlight assembly that goes to the DRL's that can be disconnected. Anyone know?

Again, this has been gone into -- at length -- in the earlier DRL thread. There is no way to disable the DRL's without disabling your headlights.

Oh yay! Another DRL thread! ;)

I also question why people want them disabled. They aren't overly bright or flashy, actually look nice in the design of the car and don't cause any harm and may in fact be helpful.

As far as disabling, why is it hard for people to realize you can't unless you're going to make major modifications. Just doesn't seem worth the effort for something so benign.

I have nothing against DRL's. I always use my headlights when driving on a two lane highway. I think they are a great safety feature. But, I travel frequently from Ft. Lauderdale to north Florida on the freeway. I usually cruise along at about 90+. I don't want to draw any unnecessary attention to myself. A speeding vehicle is far more obvious to a cop when the DRL's or headlights are on during the day. That's the only reason I want them off. If I have to tear the whole front end of my car off to get to them, I can assure you, they will be off soon.
