I never intended to. Personally, I think this experience in an older vehicle will end up being good for you as long as you respect each vehicle for what it can and can't do and drive accordingly. My roommate and I are 21 year old college kids that have a passion for baseball and cars. I have the s550, and he drives a '59 Chevy Apache...we like to have fun in both. You can't count all of us out!
But what about your other classmates, particularly after they've reached "middle-age" without ever having driven a pre-ABS car? (I'm setting widespread fitment of ABS as marking the beginning of driver assistance technology here, without trying to put a date on it) Try to picture them at your parents' age having lived a more or less "conventional" adult life.
Will it take many of these newer driver assistance technologies to be missing or temporarily missing-in-action for them to feel uneasy? Will the absence of things like DRL's, BLIS, and reverse cameras bother them as much as I know the lack of seat belts would bother me? Those are my questions.
