Daytime running lights

Possible dumb question. Is there a way to disable the drl's on a base gt? I was thinking of taking the mustang to the drive in's. Playing around in the driveway and reading the owners manual and i didnt come up with anything? Whats the trick?

With other cars with DRLs I would apply the parking brake a little til the lights came off.

I haven't drive. My mustang yet so I can't try it myself.

Daytime running lights stay on with the key on. If you shut the key off, they go off but the radio only stays on for certain amount of time. Parking brake makes no difference.

Park car. Shut off engine. Open car door. Close car door. Push radio power button. The door open/close disables the "radio on until exit" feature and shuts down all lights after 30 seconds. Radio then runs for 30 minutes at a time. I find I need to recycle the door for the radio to come back on after 30 minutes.

DRL's arent true DRLs in the mustang computer from what I see, they get constant power as soon as anything is opened, unlocked etc.

MXRacer I got to try that on mine and see if that works, never thought of that.

Ive sit in my gt powered off for many a time just listening to radio. After it times out all I need do is just push radio on button. No door opening required!

Yup thats what i ended up doing, car off, had to keep powering the radio back on. Quite annoying, radio seemed to shut off when important dialogue was happening...
