As someone who Ordered a custom car and put no money down, I had all the leverage in the world. Though I just took the xplan + extra incentives + free extended warranty.
If you were ready to walk away and find one on the lot - sure. Most of people ordering aren't (can't fine very many like mine for example).

What king of a Taurus? Taurus SHO?
No, a loaded Limited AWD. I had to give up my 2011 GT/CS for it to help cover some medical costs for my daughter with special needs. Things are cleaned up enough that I can get a Mustang again.

And yes, I know they are screwing me somewhere with it. I buy a car every few years, they sell them everyday. I know they are much better at the game than I am. I just try to come out of the deal feeling comfortable. I know I'll never win unless I could walk in with cash. In my circumstances that'll never happen.

And I just saw this morning they cashed my deposit check. Gotta love those guys. Makes it harder to tell them I'm walking if I don't like the deal.

Ask your salesman or the sales manager for the order# and the dealer code# and see if it has been actually ordered yet. If it hasn't tell them you changed your mind on the ordering at this time and will order again in the near future and get your money back. Worth a shot anyways.

I'd simply have gone elsewhere and re-ordered from a different dealership. Last time I ordered it was for a GT500 last year and it never showed up, now I'm not doing business with that dealership. If the new dealership would have done the same thing or changed the agreed upon deal at the time of order I would have left and taken my business else where. There are three dealerships within 60 miles of me, and 5 within 60 miles of the dealership I ordered from (bought it in a different city while visiting family over thanksgiving) I'd have no problem with going elsewhere. My family has owned nothing but fords for the last twenty years except for a used wrangler. That's over 12 vehicles. We've had fallouts with two dealerships (one after an owner change and that one we've bought 4 cars from.) I have zero problem paying a little more, or longer travel time for top notch service and customer care/experience.

So I managed to get a used Firestone at Discount Tire for $80 out the door. That will have to do. Get a text from my salesman. I have an order but no vin until Friday he says. I told him I know schedules are done on Thursdays so I would be in touch with him Friday. All I want is honesty on this deal.

I'm shopping for a single Michelin MXM4 now. Best price so far is Discount Tire @ $260. I may go that route. Hope they don't give me any flak or try to raise the price because I only want to buy 1.
What... you really think they'll notice 'one' donut tire. :eyebulge:

I guess you kinda need to replace it pretty soon. Not much time to look for a used matching tire? But I'd try!

About two weeks before my Mustang arrived last November, my wife backed into my trade, in the driveway. The repair looked OK after the second attempt, but I would have never bought a car with mismatched paint like that. No one said anything, but my trade offers were terrible. Ultimately sold the car PP for less than low-book but well above the trade offers. 2007 Lincoln MKZ. Not exactly a market-burner in the used car industry.
