This article, released today. New recall for the CyberTruck. Other problems are summarized as well.

"Tesla said it is recalling 11,688 Cybertrucks from the 2024 model year because the front windshield wiper motor controller failed due to excessive electrical current. Non-functioning wipers could increase the risk of a crash in wet weather. The wiper recall covers all trucks built through 6 June."
S550 recalls 😝 : https://www.cjponyparts.com/resources/s550-mustang-recall-and-tsb-info

I'm sorry to say it, but all car manufacturers do tons of recalls with US ones leading the pack. It's nothing specific to tesla. And if some idiots keep their fingers in hydraulically powered closing system just to see if they get chopped off, they have fully deserved it.

Yes, recalls happen to all makes/models. Just the nature of mass produced vehicles. That said, there have been a couple recalls on the CyberTruck and EV in general due to the systems malfunctioning and bricking the car. At least with most ICE recalls the car is still drivable. In the case of the CyberTruck getting bricked, you have a $100k paperweight that is still ugly as sin.

Don't forget that can slice your appendages :like:

I am ok with the other Teslas, they are fine daily drivers but that's it. But with this one I can't help but make this face when I see one

I just don't like double standards. There are enough reports on this forums about people getting lemons that end up sitting for months at dealer lot with no adequate resolution. It not exclusive to this metal box.

I don't have any issues with people calling this thing ugly. After all, it looks nothing like any other car or truck, and it's all very subjective. I personally think that majority of modern mass produced cars look like dog turds - all slightly different but at the same time all are the same sh!t.

Saw this one today. Another unique problem with the thing. My favorite part is Tesla isn’t going to help him fix anything.

“We have reviewed logs and due to the terrain, the accelerator may or may not disengage when the brake is depressed. As far as the back tire locking we are reviewing.”

I really hope this statement is not true. WTH does that mean? Brake should overwrite no matter what.

You're right. It's not. IMO, this thread is an affirmation Tesla is now, just another car company.

When Tesla started out, many saw it as a cool and futuristic business, cutting edge, etc. People were willing to pay a premium for the brand. Some were willing to look the other way on many quality issues to be the first. Now, buyers expect the product to be at least as good as any another manufacturer, if not better.

Tesla also faces the additional pressure of the other makers, their designs. They aren't the only one in the room any more. They have to compete.

And with more EVs available, new and now used, Tesla's margins are compressing, something they'd not had to deal with before.

Edit,

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1ddmxmz1lpo

"German car making giant Volkswagen (VW) says it will invest up to $5bn (£3.94bn) in Tesla rival Rivian.

I agree. They're akin to the people that get lost in the desert this time of year. "It's 115 F / 46 C today. I think it'd be fun to go for a walk (in Mojave desert, Death Valley). I've never done that before. I don't need a map. I'll monitor the Sun and the horizon to keep my bearings. I've got the one quart / liter of water I normally walk with. I'll be fine."

The same VW who is scaling down production of EVs and saying it's not making another battery factory? VW Group steers production in line with dropping demand for EVs | Article | Automotive Logistics

I get that Italy is behind "EV adoption" than some other countries (good for us), BUT I really don't see that many around here.
Also, I don't see that many with newer license plates. There had been a boom a couple years ago but that's it. There are a lot of barely used EVs for sale at ridiculously low prices.

What I see is that for most of the people who buys them it's not their first car, you see a disproportionately higher amount of them in the weekends than during the weekdays.

I have 0 interest in ANY ev! The main thing that really stands out about Tesla's is the fit and finish is one of the worst on the market at any price. But, for the money they want they are atrocious!

Ill have to disagree on the fit/finish vs other automakers. For what is effectively a brand new car company, im surprised at how well they put a car together.

And "the money they want" continues to drop. You can get a brand new Model 3 for $35k.

For a pure work commuter (if your employer has free charging) they are pretty damn hard to beat.

Cyber truck? different story. Total trash lol. Hard pass for me.
