Custom Pack

So, fellow UK orderers - who's gone for the Custom Pack?

Are we sure that extra £210 is just for the chrome edging? Some of the newer European photos show it (and the nickel wheels) looking much better than I had anticipated, especially on the grey/black colours.

Not me.

I was always going to change the wheels so they were of no consequence anyway, and I don't like the chrome strips, certainly not on the DIB I was originally going for and definitely not on the OW I changed to. The fact I've now ditched the climate seats as well has just reinforced my decision.

That said, I think on the right colour, the chrome strips look quite classy, certainly add to the overall Aston Martin-ish look that the car already has.

Nickel wheels yes, chrome window surrounds, I'm not so sure. It does look Aston Martin-ish but I don't think that is a plus point - it goes against the 'honesty' of a Ford. It also makes it look more German. Audi A5 springs to mind. A look that I would have though most buyers would be trying to get away from.

Still can't stress enough how disappointed I am at the choice of wheels. the ones on offer here are the last I'd choose, but I know why they've done it - because it looks more 'European' and they obviously thought they would be the most popular choice if we had one. Don't Ford understand that one of the reasons we're going crazy for the Mustang is because it is (or should be) anything other than European?

I was going for the pack, but removed it. I'm much better when I have to make a quick decision. Giving me months to decide just leads to self-doubt

I was also going for silver stripes but removed them too...so now it's the darker look for the car. Assuming my dealer made the changes...

The big question is whether or not there are interior upgrades as part of the custom pack for the UK market. None were mentioned in UK specific literature but there was mention in an EU document. That doc also mentioned Recaro seats however.

A good point was made (by member Croyde?) that there may not be two trim levels for the RHD markets due to the relatively small number of vehicles by comparison to the LHDs.

We won't know for sure til a customer car arrives however.

Haven't gone custom-pack as not a fan of chrome on sporty cars in general. However, I think the cars look just as good with the chrome trim and silver wheels. Two very different looks, but I'd honestly be happy with either.

I think the black wheels are just a consequence of having the performance pack (ish), rather than a specific choice for the export model. Offering the silver wheel option seems to be a cheap concession to those who those who don't like black wheels.

As its looking like we probably should have some winter wheels/tyres, we could think of this as an excuse to get some wheels we really really like. Although on balance, I'd probably prefer not to have to go to the expense!

Went for the custom pack for the better sound system mainly and as mentioned 1 click instead of three! Not bothered either way by the chrome - won't see it when I am inside :-) and think it will look OK on DIB with the silver wheels.

The wheels do change the character of the car a lot. A bit less aggression, a lot more 'sophistication'. Whether that's good or bad is personal choice! They do look nice spinning up, though.

Me - I'd love to know 100% if the interiors are the same with or without the pack. I have TY on order without it (black wheels all the way on yellow) but I'm considering a switch to Guard and the silver looks stunning on that - very 'classic' Mustang.

Like Steve S said - we've been given too much time to decide!

Performance pack options in the US have a vast range of wheel choices to suite all tastes, I still think I'd pick the black over nickel on a CO car, but I'm having second thoughts on colour choice now, especially if I do decide to buy new wheels (which I'm strongly considering). I'd still only want the proper ford ones, the painted and machined ali ones have the best appearance, at least to me! but then a darker colour body would be better

No custom pack for me, I was never keen on the silver wheels & chrome look so it was always a no go...but, having seen the photos of the Euro custom pack cars they do look great & are growing on me. But I think I would always prefer without. I have not ordered any extras (unless you count the paint), hope I don't regret it! Have a feeling I am the only one that has ordered no extras lol.

I agree with the comment that the black wheels give a more aggressive look whereas the custom pack adds a bit of elegance to the appearance.

For me, when I saw that first photo of a Magnetic Ecoboost with the black wheels, that was it, I was sold. Been very tempted to change my mind a few times (race red, ruby red, black) but although they all look great, none have had the same wow factor that I got when seeing the car I have ordered. Can't wait for delivery day hope I don't look like a weirdo when I rock up & start taking a million photos lol, not long now.

Haven't gone for it myself, didn't want the nickel wheels - the black ones look better (imo) on DIB, also not fussed on the chrome surround either. Lose a bit of boot space to that subwoofer as well. Not for me.

I went for it because I think the nickel will suit a red convertible. Also didn't want to find out later I'd missed out on something I couldn't add later.

Similar to yourself, I didn't order anything extra but the paint colour (magnetic) and the auto.

Not interested in the radio or navigation upgrade. Don't need the parking sensors (rear view camera is more then enough... and I know how to drive), and will change my wheels for some Welds down the line so not interested on spending money on wheels Important going to swap.

As has been said, we've been given far to long to over think everything. I've now found myself contemplating changing the colour of the wheel nuts on a car I won't even get for several months.

The more I think about it, the more I decide that the chrome wheel nuts have to go. Probably change my mind tomorrow.

I can relate to every person on this thread!:lol: I thought it was just me who was going crazy, as I constantly question my choices. Be it the colour or if i should have went with nickel instead of black, or added stripes or the black roof! :headbonk:
