custom pack tweak

I pick up a cancelled GT fastback this week with Custom pack.Have any of you replaced the chrome wheels with black wheels or powder coated the custom pack chrome wheels ,if so does it work visually with the chrome window surrounds.Any photos would be very welcome as I can't find any shots online..Maybe nobody has such bad taste as me;)

There was a guy painted the wheels and chrome trim black, can't find the post tho. Was a race red GT. Looked great.

What I am thinking of is keeping the chrome window surround but having black wheels ,probably having the chrome ones powder coated as the chrome wheels look almost identical to the stock black ones but without paint.

I find it so funny that most people "me included" want black wheels and window trims yet it's premium to have them in chrome.

Mine was ordered with black on black but due a cock up came with chrome that I paid for extra and now have to pay again to delete. Not worked out how to do the window trims yet. Would love to just put on factory black ones just not sure I trust anyone with fitting them.

I don't think it's a very easy job either. Think the glass has to be removed too

I think it does look more premium with the chrome but more sporty/mean with the black wheels. But yes suits me to pay less for the black wheels, as don't need the custom pack.

I think it's a throwback to the continental (LHD) cars, where the premium pack (or equivalent term) also comes with the upgraded interior (soft door cards, real stitching etc.).

Interesting. Everything I've seen says the UK Custom pack wheels are silver painted, not chrome.

They are painted; called "Nickel Lustre". Custom pack is a classy look with magnetic. A bit Aston Martin, but also looks a bit like my Magnetic Mondeo, which may not be the look you want.

I have the nickel luster wheels. Had to pay extra to get them instead of black. But I'm in the US so was surprised when the OP said the same wheels were chrome in the UK.

Pretty sure the guy from Pumabuild did just that to his wheels & trim.
