Has anyone done anything like this to their Mustang (or other car)?

I am kicking around the idea.

That looks incredibly douchey.

I'd not call it douchey, but... tacky? Kitschy? Yes. Especially with names like "The Green Hornet" and the thousandth "Punisher".

I hate to be a downer man, but, save yourself the money and trouble on custom fabrication, paint, and install—and just don't. Cause this almost seems like one of the wacky modifications sprung from an episode of Pimp My Ride.

Maybe I should’ve prefaced my post before I hit send. I would never get the ones that I posted. To me those look idiotic. I was just using them as examples. But I would be looking for something that has to do with the Ford logo or the pony logo.

Alright, that's a bit different. Sorry homie; from what you posted, it seems to have evoked the response of trying desperately to prevent a friend from getting a really, really bad tattoo. 😂

On THAT note, yes, it looks like the pony's been done before, but not on an S550. See: SN95, and one S197, which was once sold on AM. It does look like one person once made custom inserts for the S197's and back, but their site states they did not renew their license with Ford in 2013, has no info on the S550, and appears to have not been updated since 2016 by going off the footer—so that may be more than a bit of a dead-end...

So, it sounds like what you're after would definitely swing into custom territory. I must say, the Ford logo or the pony being stamped into the trunk liner's fabric like the Saleen example above would be subtle and nice, but no idea how you'd accomplish that. I'd assume some kind of stamp and heat. Whichever way you go; luck!

I was going to mention Grand Design Mat too. I think you can still contact them through their Instagram page. Last post was a couple of months ago.

Thanks for the leads. What you posted is what I am talking about. I had asked @Boosted Pony where he got his but he may not have seen it. This is something I would consider but maybe not red white and blue but maybe I would.

Wouldn't having the trunk open create more drag than downforce?

Sorry, sometimes I can't help but be a bit of a smartass.

Mustang pony is mounted on a 3/8" thick SS slab. Bottom photo shows the mat covered in a grey alcantara material.

Simplicity.
The chrome GT from the trunk panel, and the blue pull straps.
