Curva C42 20x10 +35mm 6.88” backspace Square setup?

Noob here, was looking for some advise on wheel fitment for my 2019 GT Convertible with oem brakes and suspension.

I want these Curva C42 Machined wheels in a square setup but do know if they will clear up front.

Curva C42
MFP# C42-20101143573BMF
Size: 20x10
Offset: +35mm
Backspace: 6.88 inches
Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3

Plan to wrap them in Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ All Seasons, size: 275/35/20 on all four corners.

WillTheyFit says 20.4mm closer to the suspension struts

Will it fit ok, or should I also order 20mm spaces for the front?

I run a 20 x 10 square setup with 285/35/20 tires. No rubbing or fender clearance issues with the stock ride height suspension. The wheels will be pretty flush, so there is no need for any spacers.

10” ET35 is a good offset for the width. It should clear unless there is something very strange about the design and that doesn’t appear to be the case.

I had some black/machined curva wheels on my old g35, I used to get tons of compliments on them from random people every time i came out of a store lol. I had never even heard of them until i seen them on display in the shop. With the mustang i'm probably going with 6gr, once i can make up my mind on the ten or the seven.

Sweet, that just flashed me back to when a buddy of mine was running the Getty twin turbo kit on his G35.

I love the Machined Black Finish look, as I have run all black Gloss and matte, gunmetal, and bronze on my other rides before so wanted to try the other look.

I do like my 18” OEM GT wheels, as they are machined black too and I wanted to keep it that way, but I wanted a wider tire and larger diameter wheel for the setup.

Need to note that the 35+ offset that I originally ordered was not available in the black machined finish, so I went with the 38+ offset instead.

I did a test fit today and am a little afraid that they won’t clear the strut without a spacer.

With the oem wheel the gap between the tire and strut is about 2 pink widths maybe 3/4” (I have small hands lol) but on my test fit without the tire on the new wheel alone, the gap was only about one pinky width 3/8”. While the wheel clears ok,am more afraid of the tire as I ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ in 285/35/20.

Wondering if I should order a small spacer to be sure or if thats all the clearance that is really needed?

A 3 mm slip-on spacer (~1/8”) will get you back to a +35 offset. A spacer of 5 mm is the maximum with the stock wheel studs for proper lug nut thread engagement (safety). However, just mount one tire when it arrives and check your fitment. You might be just fine. If you do need spacers, you should only need two, one for each front wheel. The rears should be fine.

You’ll be fine, the tire isn’t likely to rub with the clearance you’ve got there. At ride height it shifts back a mm or two from the strut due to suspension geometry as well. People run 10” ET40 wheels and they clear (at ride heigtt, but sometimes rub when the car is jacked up, I guess)

Finally got my wheels installed. The Curva C42’s 20x10 38+ Square wheels on the 285/35 Michelin’s came out great.

Now do I lower the car or is the current fender gap good enough?

Looks good , I think the gap would depend on how much you would mind scraping the bottom of the car lol. I have sportlines and I don’t scrape most speed bumps in the parking lot but there are some that do. Unfortunately you don’t always have the room to go sideways and ease over them when there is a car coming the opposite way and you just have to go straight over it. It won’t be long before my steeda H pipe is smashed to hell lol. Maybe some jacking rails will help with that.

Ouch, I am in North Jersey but go to NYC aka pot hole central a lot, so I may hold off until next spring.
