Backing out of a parking spot in a busy mall parking lot, my car surprised me with a frantic beeping...just in time to save me from getting clobbered by a passing car. I then realized I had cross traffic alert, which surprised me as I figured that came only with the rear parking sensors.

How does it work, and does it work in the front as well??

BLIS is rear only and works surprisingly well; it has warned me twice already when backing out of my driveway. Very helpful when the street is lined with parked cars near the entrance to the driveway. I am very glad I got it even though I added the 401 package for the Shaker Pro and the memory seats/mirrors. Remarkably effective for both this situation and its silent warnings in the mirrors in dense, more-than-two-lane, freeway traffic

BLIS! That solves the mystery. Yeah I too got the 401a for the stereo, but I'm glad to have the BLIS (the mirrors are pretty dinky, to boot).
